What is socialization?

What is socialization?

A person is a unique creation that the whole life interacts with the outside world. His attitude and a look at society follows from socialization. Let's deal with what this concept means.

1
What is socialization?

Socialization is a unique process for each person, marking "infusion" to social life. As a result of such a "procedure", various changes are made of not only the individual itself, but also in general the public structure. The passage of all the stages of socialization of the individual gives each of us the opportunity to become a full member of the Company. But it should be borne in mind that everyone, this path passes in different ways, it all depends on what activity manifests.

If the person is striving for "implementation" into various groups, then it will rise all their norms, unique features, behavior style, valuables, etc. In a word, everything is what is important for life in society.

The correct course of socialization is achieved only when communicating between people. Thus, only interpersonal relationships are able to "build a track" to socialization.

Formally, the concept of socialization is divided into 2 periods:

  • Early (primary) - from birth to 18 years: childhood, adolescence and youth;
  • Late (secondary) - from 18 years and to the end: youth, maturity and old age.

We spend these steps throughout your life. It is due to the fact that our surrounding world never stands still and is constantly developing and moving forward. Therefore, a person cannot be in a state of stagnation, it is necessary to always be on a variable surroundings.

But it is worth considering that the separation by the age basis is conditional in nature, since each person has its own development process individually. And the fact that one is capable of achieving in a certain period cannot yet.

Personal socialization has never had any borders or restrictions. The individual is studying and adopting the experience of others during the entire existence. But despite this, the psychologists still distinguish phases and stages of socialization.

Phases and Socialization Stages

The formation of socialization, three main phases are held:

  1. The adoption of social norms, as well as values, ultimately, whom a person is studying "art" to coincide with all society;
  2. Personality tends to actualization, personification, as well as to the ability to influence other individuals;
  3. Each of us is a period of introduction into a social group, where our unique features and opportunities are revealed as a result.

If all 3 phases are consistently pass, then we can expect that the entire period of socialization will suit its logical conclusion.

Just above, we already concerned its stages that are divided depending on the age of a person. Consider them a little more:

  • Childhood - originates from birth and before early development. During this period, a person is formed by 70%. Thus, the child has been aware of his personal "I" under 7 years old. Therefore, it is very important to ensure that it will be put in this time interval;
  • Teenage age - a person undergoes the maximum number of physiological changes, the formation of personality and sexual maturation occurs. Already from 13 years, children take responsibility;
  • Youth (16-17 years old) is the most acute and restless period in a person's life. It is at this stage that important decisions are taken on further activities and fate as a whole;
  • Older years (18-30 years old) - individual instincts are aimed at workflows and love relationships. A person is aware of himself through labor, sexual experience, friendship, etc.

It is very important that the person already knew the person from young people what to do with his own life, then socialization will be held most successfully and painlessly. The main thing is that the personality takes place all the steps right. After all, any deviations in this case can entail dangerous consequences, up to the fact that a person risks to be in long-term depression and crisis.
