What is metabolism - Decryption of the term

Metabolism translated from Greek means reincarnation (transformation). It represents the physiological process of metabolism in the body, which occurs due to the set of chemical reactions. Such reactions are natural for each living organism, since they constantly support the viability of the cells of the body, and also contribute to their restoration and reproduction.

How is the process of metabolism?

The process of metabolism itself is divided into two stages:

  • Catabolism - when the organic substances of the complex structure are split into simpler elements, and the energy is distinguished;
  • Anabolism is a reverse process when previously split, simple elements are synthesized into more complex structures for a certain "application" by the body. In synthesis, the energy is spent.

In the process of metabolism, with the participation of certain enzymes received from the outside, the substances are split into biological molecules, and after these particles are formed to other substances that are necessary for cells for normal functioning and vital activity.

  • thin - means good metabolism;
  • full - you have a bad metabolism.

But it's all wrong. The concepts of poor and good metabolism, as an independently arising process, does not exist. The same applies to expressions about congenital metabolism. Physiologists and psychologists agree that a number of factors are affected by the exchange processes: physical exertion, food, drinking mode, healthy sleep, stable psycho-emotional state. Without these components, no one can boast of good metabolism.
