How to sterilize banks in the oven

For a long storage time, conservation in unprepared banks deteriorates, and the blanks have to be thrown away. Sterminal empty jars, there will be no microbes left in them, and the conservation will stand for a long time. The fastest and most convenient method is sterilization in the oven. You can use both gas and electric oven - the principle of disinfection of glass products is the same.

1
We prepare banks for sterilization in the oven

The preparation of cans is as follows:

  • carefully inspect the glass container. We saw a crack, chip on the neck or other flaws - set aside the bank, it is not suitable for conservation;
  • wash the banks. Pour them with water and leave for a couple of hours. All dried invisible bacteria and microorganisms will smoke, and you can easily wash the container. To wash glass products, use food soda, it leaves no unpleasant odors and cleans pollution well. Take a new sponge for washing. Wash the container under running water and rinse thoroughly after using soda;
  • do not throw out threads with threads. They are useful for conservation. But before sterilization, check them for tightness. Pour water into the vessel, close tightly with a lid. Raise a jar of water above the table and shake well. The table will remain dry if the tightness is good. Water is dripping from a closed jar or flowed - throw it away.

2
Sterilize in the oven banks empty

After washing, you can not dry the banks on purpose. Do not heat the oven first! We start sterilization:

  • install clean empty dry jars in a cold oven on a grille or a baking sheet with a neck down. Place the wet container with a neck up - the water will evaporate quickly. Place several glass products in the oven so that they do not touch each other;
  • turn on the oven and gradually warm up to 150 degrees. This temperature regime is enough to disinfect glass containers;
  • leave the banks in the oven for the right time. After the expiration of time, open the oven door, turn off and let the glass container cool;
  • take out sterilized jars. Use a rag, tack or mittens - hot jars, get a burn on your hands. Take dry tacks, from the temperature difference, a glass vessel can burst in your hands;
  • place the finished jars upside down on a clean towel and use it as intended.

3
How long should the banks are sterilized in the oven?

The processing time depends on the size of the glass container:

  • 0.5-0.75 l-10 minutes;
  • liter - 15 minutes;
  • two -liter - 20 minutes
  • three -liter and more - from 25 to 30 minutes.

Sterilize banks in the oven with conservation

Put filled jars in a cold or slightly warmed oven. Do not cover the lids. After loading the container, heat the oven to 100 degrees. The sterilization procedure of filled cans is similar to the above method. Time is usually indicated in the recipe by which prepare conservation.

Useful tips for sterilizing cans in the oven

Never take a hot jar by the neck, taking it out of the oven after sterilization! The container will slip out of the hands or the neck will break out. Remove it carefully with two hands in the mittens. Due to the high rigidity of our water, a white plaque may appear on glass vessels. Do not worry, it does not harm. Such a plaque appears if the jars are sterilized up.

For the exact counting of the time required for heat treatment, observe the oven door. It grows after turning on, and after a few minutes the glass will become ordinary. You will see that the last droplets have disappeared from the door - it's time to turn on the timer.

Do not apply conservation in very hot banks. Stream metal covers for conservation with banks in the oven, and boil caps on the plate in a saucepan.

If you did everything right - home blanks for the winter will keep their beneficial properties and excellent taste for a long time. And so that the jar cooled after sterilization does not burst while filling with hot contents - put glass containers in a metal deep bowl.
