Every year, many housewives try to make more reserves for the winter. The main rule of conservation is the preparation of containers. Sterilizing banks for many women is a special topic, because this process is not fast, but I want to do all the work as soon as possible. You can facilitate your work if this part of the work is entrusted with the microwave.

How to sterilize banks in the microwave

This process saves time because one procedure needs to be taken from only 2 minutes to 5, depending on the volume of containers.

How to process a bank:

  • the jar needs to be washed well with water, and then with a detergent. If you feel negative to the wash, then you can use ordinary soda. Then each jar must be carefully rinsed under a stream of water;
  • you need to pour a little water into the jar (1-2 cm), and then put it in a microwave;
  • turn on the device, the timer must be put for 3 minutes or a little more. The sterilization time will depend on the power of your microwave. You need to wait for the water to boil in the bank;
  • then you need to carefully use the tacks, remove the hot jar and put it on the table;
  • if the bank is large and does not get on the bottom, it can be put to one side, only water must be poured.

Advantages of sterilization of cans in a microvolon furnace

If you compare this method with others (for example, processing a container on the stove or in the oven), then the following can be noted:

  • banks can be treated much faster than if sterilized in a saucepan on the stove;
  • you can simultaneously put several small jars in the microwave;
  • the temperature regime in the kitchen does not change. But this is very important, because it is very hot in the summer, and if you also turn on the oven, it will be very uncomfortable. The microwave does not heat up, it will not be hot and humid in the room.

What else needs to be known to correctly sterilize banks in the microwave

These recommendations must be followed, then you will succeed:

  • It is necessary to pour water into the jar, otherwise the glass will burst.
  • If you need to process a 3-liter jar, but it is not placed in the chamber of the microwave oven, it must be put to one side. Be sure to pour water.
  • Follow security measures: metal devices are not allowed to lay in a microwave. This applies to the sterilization of the covers. They can be separately processed on the stove in a small saucepan.
  • For small cans, heat treatment is enough for 2-3 minutes, for 3 liter-5 minutes.
  • Before putting banks in the camera, you need to carefully check each so that there are no cracks and chips.
  • If dry treatment is needed, then a glass of water is placed in the middle of the microwave (we do not completely fill), and then jars are exhibited around.

How to sterilize banks with blanks in the microwave

There is another way of processing cans, already with blanks. It is necessary to put a jar with the contents (hot compote, cucumbers, zucchini (in hot brine), etc.), wait for the fluid to boil, wait a few more minutes. Then you need to immediately roll each jar with lids.

This method is convenient, but not fast, because in the microwave to wait for the fluid to boil, you need to allocate for about 10 minutes or even more. But this is an electricity consumption. So filled jars are best sterilized on a slab in a saucepan.
