How to warm the house with polystyrene

The insulation of the house was an urgent issue at all times. Modern technologies allow this to be done on the outside of the house easily and reliably. One of the common methods is to warm the house with foam slabs. Its main advantages are good operational qualities of foam, ease of use and a financially economical option.

First of all, we prepare the necessary materials in the required quantity:

primer;
foam plates;
glue for foam;
reinforcing mesh;
corners for the formation of angles;
dowel for fixing foam plates;
the spatula is ordinary and toothed, brushes;
adhesive capacity;
putty;
profile for the basement.

First you should prepare the walls of the insulated house. The wall should be leveled as much as possible (if necessary), irregularities should not exceed 1-3 cm. Depending on the condition of the wall: plastering, cleaned, primer. If there is a paint on the wall, it is better to remove it. The primer can be applied with maclovor, but a more convenient option is from a sprayer.

In order to put the foam, as much as possible along the entire perimeter of the bottom of the facade of the house, we fasten the basement using dowels, the distance between which should be about 30 cm. The width of the basement profile depends on the thickness of the foam. The accuracy of the installation of the profile in a horizontal position is controlled using the construction level. To control the flat laying of foam in the vertical plane, you can pull the cords or threads over the entire wall at a distance of 50-70 cm from each other, we control their horizontalness using a plumb line or the same building level.

Now prepare glue according to the instructions. We apply the finished solution on a sheet of foam “blunders”, then level it on the surface with the flat side of the gear spatula, and then draw to the teeth. Also, glue is applied to the wall. Now the foam sheet is pressed tightly against the wall and tap with the palm or special foam grater. It is more convenient to start glue from the door or window (from their slopes), then on the basement. Foam plates are laid in a checkerboard pattern, like a brick. Additionally, the foam plate is attached using dowels with two options: you can hammer dowels in the four corners of the stove and one in the middle. And you can - in a corner formed by the convergence of three plates, and in the center of each plate. The dowel should be 50 mm longer than the thickness of the foam.

After the work with the stoves of the foam, it is necessary to close all the seams and recesses in the places of fastening with dowels. This can be done with putty. If the cracks and gaps are quite large, then it is better to glue the strips of foam into them or blow out foam.

The next stage is putty (you can plastered) using a reinforcing grid. Foam putting the foam differs from the usual in that the thicker putty layer is applied in order to “drown” the reinforcing mesh in it. We carry out reinforcement as follows: apply putty on the wall with a horizontal strip corresponding to the cutting of the mesh in size. Then apply the net and smooth the spatula, pressing. The net cuts are placed. Usually used a mesh with a cell of 4x4 mm or 5x5 mm. After completely drying, the second leveling layer of putty is applied.

The process of insulation of the house is completed. Now you can start decorating the walls. It can be just painting or applying decorative plaster - you decide. The main thing is that your house will now be not only beautiful, but also warm.
