How to install the door harmonic

The door-accordion is sold by sets equipped with the necessary spare parts for the assembly and suspension of the folding canvas of a certain size. Some products allow for a trimming for an accurate fit in height of the opening, and sometimes you can purchase additional panels to increase the door width. Dobors and platbands are bought separately in most cases.

In the kit of the harmonica doors, there must be drawings of the design and the assembly scheme of individual nodes. Having studied the instructions, you can start the installation, for which the tools will need:

Drill;
Saw on a tree;
Hoven for metal;
Level;
Plumb;
Roulette;
Corner;
Stuslo;
Screwdrivers.

Wooden bars and mounting foam will be required.

The door-harmonica is allowed to be mounted in an existing box if it is in good condition. This solution has two drawbacks: first, decreases the doorway, secondly, there is no complete confidence in the reliability of the old design. Therefore, the optimal option is a complete dismantling, cleaning to the base and installing a new wooden box. The frame is collected taking into account the dimensions of the opening and the size of the door itself, fastens with the screws, is crushed at the place of the bar and is fixed by anchors at three points of each side. With a width of more than 1 m, the upper fixation of 1-2 places is added. The voids between the bars and the walls are filled with polyurethane foam.

After drying, the foam go to the installation of the upper guide:

The profile rail is cut off with hacksaw in size corresponding to the width of the opening minus 4 mm;
The guide is located strictly horizontally in the box so that the gaps of 2 mm remained at the edges;
The mounting holes are placed and drilled;
One end of the plank grabbed with a self-tapping screw, leaving the possibility of a shift of the guide.

The door height is determined, taking into account the roller system and 10 mm gap to the floor. According to the measurements, the cutting of parts in length is performed.

The door leaf is assembled: the panels are folded on the floor and are connected to each other by the method reflected in the technical documentation. Plastic elements are usually fastened by grooves or gaskets. Products based on MDF are connected by a long axis through the eyelers or with the help of loops. The last method is often used in wooden and combined (wood + glass + metal) folding doors. At the end of the assembly, they take rollers, lubricate them with lithol and set to the top of the panels.

Door canvas hangs:

The guide rotating on one screw is output from the opening, the support plates are installed inside it;
The panels are "harmonic", raised by carriages up and, holding the profile, are inserted into the rollers in the groove, and the swivel axis in the hole of the support part;
The guide turns into place and is finally screwed by self-pressing;
The position of the panels is carried out if the system contains the corresponding nodes;
The smoothness of the stroke of the canvas and the parallel operation of the looping mechanisms is checked.

Side strips are mounted, the location of the magnetic lock is noted on the drive panel and the latch is screwed. Lastly, the handles are installed. When all the door items are in place and checked their work, proceed to the attachment on the perimeter of the opening. The billets are cut off at an angle of 45 ° in the stupid, fixed with fasteners with huts or liquid nails.
