Checking the oil level in the automotive gearbox is carried out at least once every 2-3 weeks. If you do not fulfill this work on time, then the oil can flow due to damage to the box housing, and it will be necessary to repair the gearbox itself.
How to check the oil in an automatic box
In the larger heat on the street and with a large car mileage, spend the oil check 20-30 minutes after the operation is completed. The oil will cool down a little, and the testimony will be released more accurate. Find the work gloves in advance and dry soft cloth. In many models, the auto oil indicator in the ACP is measured with the motor turned on.
There are many marks on the dipstick. Two tops show on a typical oil level. This segment is marked with "hot" or another mark.
Perform the following job:
- warm gearbox. Drive by car about 10 km and stop at a while. Motor Do not turn off and press the brake pedal;
- store the brake pedal and switch the speeds over all positions. The entire box will be filled with oil;
- remove the dipstick. It is needed to check the oil. Hands in gloves open the hood. The probe loop is located near the partition, which separates the engine from the cabin. Usually it is a bright shade. Pull the loop carefully, and extract the dipstick;
- wipe the dipstroke. Insert it back into a special tube until you stop. I pull out again. Dry place located at the lower level will indicate the amount of oil. If everything is fine - insert the probe back and close the hood.
Be sure to check when the engine is heated. If it took to add liquid after measurement - try not to overflow the system. Excess oil will cause foaming. The liquid will foam and increase in volume. Through the Sapun, it seeps in the box. Look at the car. If you see that everything is evaporated in oil, they poured it too much.
How to check the oil in a manual box with a probe
Perform the following actions:
- find a flat place for the car. Wait until the oil feels down. It will take about 15 minutes;
- open the hood. Find the dipstick and take it out. Wipe with a dry soft cloth and insert back. If it did not work out to remove the probe - remove the air filter;
- remove the dipstick again. We look at the indicator. If the liquid level does not reach the "MAX" indicator - pour oil to the hole of a similar brand. Let it be a little restless, and take a look at the indicator. If required - fill the liquids.
Please note the fact that the oil in the box should be flooded just above the level of the greatest mark. This will avoid the Gula 5 of the transfer, which in the car is located above all the others.
How to check the oil in a manual box without using the probe
First, install the machine on the overpass and remove the protection. It is advisable to install a car under a not very large inclination. This will pour fluids more than the mark "Max".
Now your actions are as follows:
- unscrew the filler box. Will stick your finger. Oil you will feel because it is located to the lower boundary of the filling box;
- fill if necessary oil with a special syringe. Sometimes it is convenient to use a long tube. It helps pour the oil, because in some models auto bay hole is difficult to access.
Checking oil does not take much time. If you spend this job regularly, the repair of the gearbox will not need. And if you do not follow this, the amount of oil will decrease due to the course, which is unacceptable for normal operation of the car.
