Almost every person in life there is a desire to have their own home. Someone for this hires a whole brigade of builders, someone decides to do everything with their own hands. And, of course, the correctness of construction technologies depends on how strong and reliable will our structure will be. Filling the foundation - the main and priority stage of construction.
How to fill the foundation - first stage
- All work is better spent in summer in dry weather.
- We calculate the plot, make the marking of the boundaries of the upcoming foundation.
- Consider the total area and mass of the structure, the relief of the site. It is better to consult with a specialist or those who have already been engaged in this stage.
- We indicate the perimeter of the structure. On the inner and external boundaries of the walls, we set wooden wedges, pegs or any other limiters and stretch between them even parallel lines from rope, twine or fishing line (the distance between them should be about 40 cm).
How to fill the foundation - dig a trench
- To do this, find out the depth of the lands. The average value is from 80 cm to 1 m, in some regions - more (consistent with the specialists of construction organizations). To this number we add 30 cm and get the depth of our trench.
- We strengthen the walls, exhibit formwork. We establish it behind the markup, for this we put the vertical shields from the selected material to the height of 30 cm above the ground level. This is done to ensure and hold the form when pouring concrete. Most often use wooden formwork thanks to the cheapness and simple installation procedure, as well as practicality and the possibility of further use of boards.
- At the bottom of the trench, we smell a sand pillow (average thickness of 20-40 cm). Pour it with water and tamper.

Concrete, as is well known, has a very large mass due to components: rubble, sand, water and cement. In order for our trench to retain the shape when pouring concrete, it must be strengthened. In addition, the foundation needs reinforcement so that in the future to withstand the weight of the entire structure.
- We use wire screed or metal rods frame.
- We put the design, retreating 5-7 cm on each side of the trench.
- Separate elements additionally fasten with each other with wire or weld to avoid disbanding the structure.

How to fill the foundation - Pouring concrete
- We make a solution or order through intermediaries a ready-made mixture that will be delivered to the concrete mixer.
- We fill the prepared mixture evenly, layer per layer. Make sure that the slots and shifts are not formed.
- Each layer is preferably tumped using vibrating plates, in order to avoid unevenness and formation of bubbles.
- We expect solidification of concrete (the process can delay up to a month). After removing the formwork.
- In order to avoid drying the foundation on hot days, we water it with a small amount of water, in crude weather - cover with a waterproof film.
