How to pour a warm floor

The "warm floor" system is an excellent addition to the main heating. However, its effective work is possible only with the proper cement-sand tie. If you do not adhere to technology, cracks may appear on the concrete. That is why it is important to know how to fill the warm floor correctly, and follow this instruction.

Preparatory work

Before the direct fill of the water underwear, you need to carry out some manipulations related to the preparation of the base, and install all the contours:

1. The first layer is a PVC film and acts waterproofing.
2. Next, you need to put the insulation, for example, extruded polystyrene foam, the thickness of which is 5-10 cm. Also possible installation of thin foamed polyethylene, which has a layer of heat-reflecting foil. Consider that the reflective aluminum layer must necessarily be covered with polyethylene.
3. After there is a turn of the base for fastening pipes. Also, at this stage, the screed is carried out - laid a grid that has a cell 10 or 15 cm. In addition, there is an option to use a special base with pipe channels.
4. Now you can proceed to the location of the heating contours, for which you need pipes made of polypropylene. Also suitable metal-plastic products, the diameter of which is 20 mm.
5. At the next stage, we reinforce the surface again to protect against cracks in concrete - we lay the mounting mesh over the pipes.
6. To ensure a smooth filling floor, fastened a beacon profile. Between the beacons, we withstand such a step so that this distance does not exceed the length of the rules. To fix lighthouses, we use self-tapping screws that exhibit at one level. In addition, there is a method of installing beacons for a solution.
7. In completion, the floor is flooded with a solution. Choose the thickness of the screed so that the layer is 3-7 cm above the pipe level. In this case, heat will be evenly spread over the surface of the whole room.

Warm water pouring

Before you start work, the surface is worth cleaning from garbage and dust using an industrial vacuum cleaner. So you can improve adhesion.

We will prepare a solution for filling a warm floor:

• To fill a large room, you will need a concrete mixer, when working in a small room we will prepare a solution manually.
• Prepare a mass of 1 part of cement (take M300) and 3 parts of sand pre-sifted. To get a homogeneous mixture similar to sour cream, add water to dry composition. Increase strength and elasticity will turn out, sprouting into a solution polypropylene fibrovocol and plasticizer.
• You can also use the finished self-leveling mixture.

Now consider the subtleties of the fill of the warm floor:

1. Pour the finished solution to the surface, you can even in one pile.
2. Then the mass is recreated with shovels throughout the room and is finally leveling the rules for beacons.
3. Remember: it's necessary to do everything quickly, otherwise the solution will begin to push in its original form, that is, not distributed around the room, and it will not be possible to dissolve it.
4. Do not try to achieve an ideally smooth surface at the same time, simply apply the solution to be slightly higher beacons to eliminate defects afterwards.
5. When the mass serves a little, it is necessary to remove beacons from the screed, since otherwise they rusted.
6. Shorts that subsequently formed this, make a new solution similar to the composition.
7. The next morning after work on the pouring of a warm floor to prevent the appearance of cracks, the surface is mandatory must be sprinkled with water, and then protected by film.
8. Moisturize the screed for 3-7 days, and a month later, the concrete will acquire strength. This will allow to put the finish floor covering.

Important! In the event of a filling of a warm floor, the creation of a monolithic plate is not allowed if the complex shape room or has a large area, since cracks will appear very quickly. This is the main difference between technology from the traditional tie of the floor. You need to pour the surface, having previously divided the room into small zones of a rectangular or square shape with the help of a damper tape. In addition, the intermediate seams are often equipped. All seams subsequently, that is, when concrete dries, seal. If the pipe will pass through the deformation seam, protect it with a shell of corrugations.

Filling a warm electric floor

The procedure for filling the warm electric floor is similar to the process of arranging the screed for water floor, but has little differences that must be considered when working:

• Heating elements should not be located in areas where you plan to put furniture.
• Mounting mesh for reinforcement screed under the heating elements.
• Also, the cable is required to lay a rolled material with a foil coating as a heat transfer layer.
• Do not forget that it is possible to use a warm electric floor to be destined only after the screed will finally dry.
