Not every person boasts beautiful healthy and even teeth, but modern aesthetic dentistry has made a huge breakthrough in the possibilities of solving such problems. This can be done by resorting to dental restoration. We will tell you what the restoration of teeth is, what it happens, how it is performed and what can be achieved thanks to existing methods.
What is restoration and what it happens
Tooth restoration is a technique that allows you to restore the appearance of the tooth while preserving its functional abilities, color and natural appearance. There are two types of restoration: direct (consists in the phased restoration of the destroyed part of the tooth by layering the composite material in small portions to the damaged section of the tooth and subsequent hardening of it using the LED lamp) and indirect (restoring the damaged part of the tooth using veneers, luminiers, componers or ceramic crowns ).
Separately, it is worth noting the possibility of restoration of frontal (front) teeth, it can be performed in several ways:
- Artistic restoration (extension) - this method is used for slight destruction of the crown part of the tooth, restoration occurs using modern photo composite material.
- Restoring the tooth crown on the vestibular side using ultra -strength veneers or lumines. Such a procedure is performed for several techniques that include tooth preparation, removal of prints, manufacturing a prosthesis and a moment of final fixation of the crown on the tooth.
The advantages and possibilities of restoration
Restoration methods of modern dentistry are the restoration of the functional abilities of the teeth and their appearance. The technologies used make it possible to achieve such opportunities:
- Restoration of the anatomical shape of the completely destroyed crown part of the tooth.
- Elimination of pins, chips, cracks, pipe, diastems (crevices between neighboring teeth).
- A cardinal change in the shape of the tooth, its inclination and position, length, width, size.
- Correction of color, shade, tone enamel.
How direct restoration occurs
The process of dental restoration consists of several stages:
- Preparatory events. It consists in carrying out hygienic brushing tooths, determining and selecting color on the Vita scale.
- Preparation of the restored cavity. If necessary, the doctor makes local anesthesia and begins tissue preparation (the old seal is removed or affected and damaged tooth tissues are drilled).
- Insulation of the working surface. To do this, the cofferdam is used - a special latex scarf that reliably protects the tooth cavity from saliva (moisture worsens the adhesion of the filling material with the surface of the tooth tissue).
- Restoration of the anatomical shape of the tooth. If necessary (when the tooth crown is destroyed by more than 50%), the doctor fixes the pin in the tooth channel. The tooth crown is restored by sealing materials, taking into account the color selected the day before.
- Final processing. It implies the final modeling, grinding and polishing of the seal applied.
Conducting indirect restoration
This technique, in addition to the work of a dentist, requires the participation of dental technicians who, in dental technicians, make accurate models of your teeth and ready-made prostheses (veneers, crowns, lumines) according to pre-made impressions. Indirect restoration is performed in several stages:
- After determining the color of the material of the future veneer, the doctor dissects the tooth, slightly growing its front surface (0.5-1.5 mm).
- Then the teeth of the upper and lower jaws are made, after which the doctor in place makes a temporary structure, which is fixed on temporary cement and used by the patient until the permanent is made.
- The fixation of the constant design is carried out on a special composite glue that has high adhesive properties, which carefully glues the surface of the artificial material of the crown with tooth tissues.
The restoration capabilities of aesthetic and orthopedic dentistry are enormous. Thanks to nanotechnologies used in modern dentistry, you can accurately choose the color tone of artificial material, which will completely imitate the enamel tissues of a healthy tooth (while the tooth remains alive, only damaged or dead tissues are removed in it).
