How to remove the radiator

Dismantling of the automotive radiator - the task is not from the lungs. To fulfill it, you will need a set of a good tool, a pit or car lift and knowledge of the instructions below.

Before you begin to remove the radiator, install the car on the pit or lift, make sure that the engine has cooled and you can touch it with your hands. After removing the plastic protection located under the engine. To do this, with a screwdriver or special key, remove all the screws located along its perimeter, and slide the panel to the side so that it does not interfere in the future. If you have no opportunity to use a pit or lift you do not have - subdominate the front of the car from two sides to such a level so that you can get unhindered access to the elements of the cooling system below.

2
The next step is the removal from the antifreeze system. At first, unscrew the plug of the expansion tank - it must be done so that the air is unhindered and the vacuum preventing the flowing fluid in the system is not formed. Then, dropping under the car, unscrew the drain plug located in the end of the radiator. If not - disconnect any of the connections attached to its lower part. Just loosen the clamp and gently pull the rubber hose. Take care of the antifreeze vessel in advance - it can be a canister or plastic bucket.

3
When all the liquid is fused, disconnect the wires connected to the temperature sensor, then remove the clamp, the locking hose, which goes to the expansion tank and disconnect it. If the hose is not amenable - try to carefully scroll it on the fitting. As soon as he starts rotating - start pulling. Try to do it all with marginal caution so as not to damage the rubber, but if the hoses in your car cracked - you can not ceremony with them, as they still have to replace.

Gently remove the protective casing of the fan from the engine compartment. After that you will get access to the fan of the fan itself. Using the screwdriver, carefully unscrew this item, then disconnect the wires connected to its motor. Remove the engine relay unit. If your car is equipped with an automatic transmission, disconnect the cooler pipes leading to it. Get out the holes that appear so as to exclude dust, sand or other mud in them.
