How to remove the cylinder head

To remove the head of the cylinder head you will have to do the following. Talk the car on the lift and fix it with a parking brake. Then disconnect the battery. In order to drain the antifreeze, unscrew the drain plug not only from the radiator, but also from the block itself. Do not forget to open a heater crane.

The next step is the removal of the air filter. To do this, unscrew the nuts located at the top of the filter. Disconnect the purified air supply nozzle and then remove the air filter housing.

Remove the crankshaft pulley protective cover. Translate the gearbox selector to the "Neutral" position, then rotate the crankshaft pulley until the labels on the pulley and the cylinder body do not coincide. Securely lock the pulley using a metal rod.

Loans the tension roller fixation nut as much as possible. Rotate the roller until the belt tension becomes minimal. Gently remove the belt from the pulley.

On vehicles with the installed fuel injection system disconnect the intake manifold and air intake nozzle. Unscrew the throttle control cable and do not forget to disconnect the connectors of all the nozzles. Disconnect the system of crankcase ventilation nozzles.

Disconnect the connectors of all sensors that are installed in the cylinder block, then disconnect the tube from the exhaust manifold.

Remove the valve lid and unscrew all the cylinder head screws.

Together with the gasket, remove the head of the cylinders. In case of difficulty when removing, you can use a rubber hammer for a neat cutting of the cylinder head.
