How to remove the generator

Dismantling of the generator from the machine refers to unearned operations. First prepare for work - find out the way to remove the unit for your car model, find the desired tool.

The generator is removed in two ways - up, in the direction of the hood or down, dropping it to the engine, or in the pocket for the wheel. The disassembly option depends on the location of the aggregates in the motor compartment. For the latter case, install the car over the observation pit.

Remove the aggregates from the engine that prevent the device to remove the device - the battery, thermostat, nozzles, etc. Wash the location of the wires connected to the generator relative to the product, and disconnect them from it. If there is no access to wires, the operation can be performed after dismantling the fastening of the generator.

Remove the drive belt from the generator. In most cases, change the position of the guide roller of the belt tension device for this.

Remove the generator fastener to the bracket on the engine housing and dismantle from the compartment. Fasteners sprinkle WD-40. Liquid will help dismantle nuts or bolts that can accumulate to fastening.

Problems when removing the generator, more often arise in old models released in the Soviet Union. The products turned out to be reliable, operated without breakdowns for a long time, and the manufacturability of the assembly-disassembly of the motor compartment is weak.
