How to build a ground cellar

The cellar is easy to build with your own hands on average in 5-7 days. The construction of a ground cellar is justified by the special conditions of the soil on the site. Most often, these are wet lowlands with groundwater level close to the surface.

1
Choosing a place to build and determine the size of the cellar. The parameters are calculated based on the needs and number of family members, and are also due to storage specifics. For a family of 4 people, on average, there is enough storage of 2x2 meters, 1.7-2 meters high. The high ceiling is not appropriate, since in the cold season it is possible to freeze products. For construction, the dryest place on the site is selected if possible.

2
Paul laying. Remove the turf from the place selected for building, make a recess of 50 cm. The excreted soil at the last stage will serve to wrap the walls of the cellar. The foundation pit is thoroughly tamped, pour 10 cm in large sand (expanded clay, brick battle, gravel) to protect against dampness. Pour liquid clay on the drainage layer, without waiting for drying, tightly lay the brick.

3
Walling. On the perimeter of the cellar, set 4 poles for mounting the sheathing. Before digging into the ground, it is advisable to process them with a budon from decay. Strengthen the lateral walls of the recess with brick by 20-30 cm. The walls and ceiling of the future cellar are knitted from the double row of reliable thick boards, between which to lay thermal insulation material. Sawdles, moss, small expanded clay, brick crushed stone are suitable. Pre -treat the organic layer with an antiseptic. At this stage, install a ventilation pipe in the end of the cellar.

4
Installation of the entrance. Between the front door and the repository itself it is advisable to create a buffer zone - a vestibule of a meter long, which will protect from heat loss and excess dirt from the yard. This will require the installation of external and internal doors. In the winter, it is recommended to lay the space between them with bags of insulation.

5
Wall decoration, waterproofing. Pour the walls and ceiling with bitumen, lay the layer of roofing material, on it 50 cm of the clay -bearing mixture. After drying out, cover again with roofing roofing with bitumen coating. Strengthen the outer side of the wall with a clay roll up to a meter wide. High -quality work at this stage will exclude moisture in the cellar and protect from decay. This will increase the life of the construction.

6
Obvalovka. Cover the cellar remaining after the pit with soil and turf. At the base, the width of the soil is 60 cm, on the roof - 40 cm, the angle of inclination is 45 °. This will provide a stable temperature at any time of the year. In a meter or two from the cellar, draw a drain of 50 cm with a depth of 50 cm. The internal arrangement depends on the personal requirements for the room.

With the correct performance of the work, reliable protection of the ground cellar from the sun, wind, moisture, mold, pests and temperature differences is ensured. The supplies will remain no worse than in the usual underground cellar.
