Sooner or later, any motorist faces the fact that his favorite radio tape recorder begins to distort the sound, come back when playing compositions and deform the magnetic tape, if the tape recorder is cassette. This means that the prevention time has come, i.e. Cleaning the ribbon mechanism or transport mechanism of audio discs (CD transport).

Purification of the ribbon mechanism is easiest to be carried out using the HEAD Cleaner's specialized cleaner cassette. In appearance, it resembles the usual compact cassette, only instead of the tape in it is mounted a special mechanism with cleaning material. Also included there is a special detergent liquid for moistening cleaning material. It is not allowed to use any solvents - this will lead to the deformation of the details of the tape mechanism. In extreme cases, you can use isopropyl alcohol. Cleaning cassettes are produced by a fairly large number of firms, but it is better to choose the most famous: BASF, TDK, EMTEC, SKC. It is necessary to strictly follow the attached instructions: apply detergent, withstand some time, insert a cassette into the cassette receiver shaft and enable playback. After a few minutes, the entire ribbon tract of your radio will be like new. If necessary, the procedure can be repeated. If it did not help, then the case is running and requires an appeal to a specialized service center.

Cleaning CD transport is made using a specialized Clean Cleaner cleaning set. It is a CD of a special design disk, which allows cleaning the optical system of CD transport without disassembling the mechanism. Also included in the package with detergent liquid. Strictly following the instructions, the detergent composition is applied to certain areas of the disk and it is maintained for some time specified in the instructions. After that, the disc is inserted into the CD drive and turns on the radio. Upon completion of cleaning, the disk will stop independently, it can be removed and listening to your favorite music.

In some cases, cleaning the optical system does not help with a disk. This means that the laser reading head lens has accumulated too much contaminants. To eliminate them, it will take partial disassembly of the radio. Remove the radio from the regular installation site. Gently disconnect all the harnesses of the wires and carry the radio tape recorder into the place of disassembly. After removing the top cover, the CD drive becomes available. To access the laser head, you will need to remove some secondary parts.

We remove all the dust and dirt accumulated inside the magnetic housing, and proceed to clean the optical system lens. For washing lenses, we use a solution from a cleaning kit or, in the worst case, clean medical alcohol. In no case should one apply any solvents. This will lead to the cloudy lens and, as a result, to the full refusal of the reading system. Gently, using a relaxed napkin and a column brush, moistened in the detergent liquid, wash the lens and collect the radio in the reverse order. Everything can be installed in place and enjoy music.
Remember that modern radio tape recorder is a rather complicated device and requires some special skills when repaired. Therefore, if you are not sure about your abilities, it is better to contact a specialized service center. Good luck on the roads!
