How to decode a car radio

How to decode a car radio

Encoding is necessary to prevent theft and hacking. Once the network is de-energized, the radio is blocked, and it is possible to remove the blocking, only knowing it. But what if it is forgotten? You can contact a dealership center and for a specific fee you are decoded by a radio. But you can cope and yourself.

1
If you have the instructions for the radio, then it should be a card or a sticker with a four-digit code, which must be entered into the system. Do not attempt to guess the code, otherwise you can block the radio tape recorder.

2
If the instruction is lost, then you need to remove the radio, without disconnecting the wire. Almost all foreign cars are the same attachments. To do this, carefully remove both plugs and unscrew the bolts. First remove the top, then the bottom.

3
Gently pull the radio down-up to pull it out of the latch. On the tape recorder must be a sticker with a serial number. Rewrite it with the manufacturer and model of your radio. If you bought a car from hand with the most tape recorder, it is quite possible that the former owner indicated the code on the sticker with the serial number. Then the next point you just do not need.

Serial number

4
Find a resource with an electronic calculator for your magnetic model. Enter the serial number in it and get the lost code. Enter it in the radio. This option is available only if the magnetic code has not changed.

Write down the code in order to not return to a similar procedure in the future, but do not keep it in the car so that in the event of a hacking not to deprive itself and the radio tape recorder. Blocked audio systems are not in demand.
