Sooner or later, any motorist begins to think about improving the recoil of its automotive radio at low frequencies. And, of course, decides to establish a selected low-frequency acoustic section called "Active Subwoofer". Imagine that the subwoofer you have already bought and installed in the car. It remains to connect it correctly to the radio.

Connects the subwoofer with two wires - power and signaling groups. One power wire is laid directly from the plus terminal of the automotive battery to the subwoofer and connects to the terminal (+ 12V). Due to the fact that the subwoofer consumes a sufficiently large current, the cable cross section is selected approximately 6-8 square meters. mm. Also in this chain is installed fuse to protect the chain from short circuit and overload. It is more convenient to install it under the hood, as close as possible to the battery. If your radio is equipped with separate connectors for connecting an active subwoofer, the switching is very simple. A shielded coaxial signal cable with appropriate connectors is laid from the radio. On the one hand, it is turned on in the Subout connector in the radio, on the other hand, into the subwoofer Linein or LFE connector.

If there is no subwoofer output in your radio, then you need to additionally purchase a special high-level signal converter into a low-level signal. By connecting this converter in parallel to the output to the main speaker systems, at its output we obtain a standard linear signal signal. And this prepared signal is supplied to the Linein or LFE subwoofer inputs. Connection is made exactly the same signal wires as in the first case.

Cable products such as force and signal should be selected from specialized manufacturers. Today they are widely represented in our market. Cables and accessories from Monster Cable, Nord Ost, Kimber Cable, Profigold have proven very well established. It is not worth buying a cheap Chinese cable - it can work as an antenna and assemble all the interference, in the abundance of those present in the car. And then for a long time you have to look, where radio frequency interference from the system appeared.

When installing wiring, always follow some simple rules. Position the cables as soon as possible. Do not allow steep cable bends. If you have to stretch through the body metal, be sure to place rubber bushings in order to prevent the cable of the metal cable.
