The Bin file format is the image of a disk. If you are already familiar with this concept, then working with this format will not seem difficult for you, however, if you do not quite understand what is about, it is better to study this article in more detail. The Bin format itself never goes alone, together with it you must find another file - Cue. If it is not, then you can create yourself.
Create or Find Cue File for Bin
The fact is that the files of the disk images did not go one at a time. One contained information and all the basic data, and in the other - a text document with information on the procedure for reproduction and other data.
If your Bin does not have Cue, then create it yourself. To do this, open the “Notepad” tool through the computer start menu. In an empty file, write the following commands:
File "name.bin" binary

Index 01 00:00:00
Instead of the “name.bin” line, enter the name of your file with the bin format.
Save the file by clicking on the “File” button in the upper left corner, and then selecting “Save as” in the drop -down menu.
In the process of saving, you need to select a string of “all files” in the “file type” column. This is necessary in order to independently set the file format later. Give the same name as the Bin file, save.
Now rename your file by simply adding at the end of “.cue”, place this file and .bin in one folder. There should be nothing more in this folder.
How to record Bin and Cue files to disk
It is worth considering that such an old format of disk images can not always be read, since new programs may simply not have such a function. In this case, you need to either find and download a very old program for reading disk images, or just write it on a physical disk, after which you can safely see its contents.
Take the Daemon Tools program as an example. You can download it on official site.
Download the Lite version, as it is convenient and easy to use. Installation of the program will not cause you difficulties.
On the left side of the screen, select the “Drive Burn” line, and in it “write the image to the disk”.
In this window, you need to download the Cue image through a button with three points. The remaining parameters can not be changed. Insert a clean disk and start recording.
How to see the contents of the BIN images
Bin images can be seen if you find the desired program and the image itself is not very old. Daemon Tools Lite, which you already downloaded early, may well be suitable for these purposes.
Go to the “Images” section and click on the “Mount Image” column.
Find the Bin file on your computer and open it in this line.
Wait until the program performs mounting. This can take from a few seconds to minutes, depending on the performance of your computer and the file volume.
Now you can calmly see the contents by simply clicking on an already mounted image in the drive.
As soon as you finish working with the image, click on the drive with the right mouse button and select the “Break” line. So that the contents of the disk do not start every time you turn on the program.
