What is an idle sensor

What is an idle sensor

High -quality car operation is possible only if all of its parts and systems are in good condition. And even those who are not familiar with the device of the car understand the importance of any component of it. The car drive provides an engine, therefore it is often called the heart of the machine, which means that all the mechanisms with which the engine directly interacts carry important functions to ensure its full operation.

1
One of these mechanisms included in the engine control system is the so -called idle sensor (DHX). Although it would be more correct to call it - the engine of the idle of the engine (RXX). As the name implies, it is necessary to stabilize the idle speed of the engine. It performs its function by supplying the amount of air to the engine that it requires for full operation. In this case, the amount of air may vary, it depends on the height of the engine temperature and is transmitted through the air supply channel.

RXX is included in a rather complex system, where everything is interconnected: the regulator passes the air, the flow sensor measures this volume, the controller transmits that amount of fuel that corresponds to the volume of air supplied to the engine. The system also analyzes and controls the number of revolutions of the idle carried out by the engine, and, depending on this number, regulates the amount of air supplied.

3
When the car engine warms up to a certain temperature set by the manufacturer, the controller supports the number of idle speeds, which is necessary and optimal for this engine. But while the desired temperature is not achieved, the RXC increases the speed - this is done so that the engine warms up at high speeds. If you do not have time to wait for the complete warming up of the engine, then you can start moving already at this stage.

4
Often, the RXX is installed on the throttle and fixed with two screws. However, there are options for fastening on the varnish, which will create some difficulties in maintenance and repair, since in this case it is necessary to remove not only the sensor, but also the entire damper.

5
Signals about the sensor malfunction can be different states of the car associated with idle. For example, a car can simply stall at idle, also revolutions can swim, or there is no increased speed when you start a cold engine. Also, the engine may stall at the time of switching the transmission on the box. At the same time, any light on the dashboard will not burn, since the PHX is not equipped with an internal diagnostic system, unlike the engine.

You can purchase an idle sensor at an authorized service center, a car shop or on a car market, and it will be possible to install it on your own, and by contacting a car service to specialists-auto-mechanics.
