Amoxiclave refers to the complex preparations of penicillin series, it perfectly copes with numerous bacteria, resistant to other antibiotics, has antimicrobial and bactericidal effect, destroys the walls of resistant bacteria, as well as microorganisms resistant to amoxicillin.

The effectiveness of the action is due to the presence of inhibitor - clavulanic acid.

The drug is shown to use with various bacterial invasions, which cause such diseases:

  • bronchitis, inflammation of lungs and abscesses;
  • diseases of ENT organs having bacterial etiology;
  • intestinal infections and urinary tract diseases;
  • urinary diseases characterized by the presence of infection, inflammation and sepsis;

  • operational intervention and postoperative period.

Dosage and features of amoxiclava

The dose of antibiotic, the duration of use and the form of the drug should be determined only by the attending specialist. In no case by the treatment of amoxiclav should not be carried out at its own discretion of the patient, because the inappropriate use of the drug can cause a mass of negative reactions.

Powder for intramuscular injection in a dose of 1.2 g is used for adults and children from 12 years, which have a body weight more than 40 kg, with a time interval of 8 hours. With superinfection and serious course of the disease, it is possible to reduce the injection interval to 6 hours.

Children from 3 months and up to 12 years old drug dose in the calculation of 30 mg / kg twice a day.

Amoxiclav tablets are produced in a dosage of 375 mg, 600 mg and 1000 mg. The number of receptions and the duration of the course determines the doctor, given the peculiarities of the disease, but the maximum daily dose should not exceed 6000 mg.

Contraindications to amoxiclav

Amoxiclav does not apply in hypersensitivity to antibiotics of the penicillin row. Also, in the history of the patient there were liver and kidney diseases, the use of the antibiotic should be carried out with the ratio of benefit and risk to health.

There are a number of contraindications for the use of amoxiclava:

  • phenylketonuria;
  • mononucleosis;
  • violation of the functions of the liver due to the reception of amoxiclava earlier;
  • renal failure.

With caution and under the complete control of the doctor, the drug should be used during pregnancy and lactation, since the amoxiclava substances are able to penetrate the placenta and in breast milk.
