How to choose a voltage relay

How much harm and troubles have done sharp voltage drops in industrial and living conditions. This is probably the best workers of fire services. Voltage relays allow you to maximize you and your home from such troubles.

First we define that we are planning to protect. Protection on one device or on the entire electrical network. In the case with one device, it is quite appropriate to purchase a rosette type relay. For example, the RN-101M device, pH-116. It provides protection for any electrical appliances with a capacity of up to 3.5 kW. The difference is that the first additionally protects against a short circuit in the protective device.

PH-117 type relay is simpler to use and does not require any additional settings. But this relay cannot be used to protect refrigerators, air conditioners and other instruments with compressors.

If we need to protect the entire apartment (office), it is necessary to install a relay into a camshaft, which is usually on the staircase near the electric meter. Such relays are divided into two subgroups: load control independently (pH-102, pH-113) and load controls with more powerful contacts (pH-111, pH-111m).

It is necessary to stop your choice on a voltage relay with a power reserve equal to 20-30%. Look at your circuit breaker. At a voltage, for example, 25 A, you need to install a power relay 32 or 40 A.

Important! If your relay protects the device with a compressor, then from the moment of an emergency disconnection of the relay until it is turned on at least 5 minutes. This is caused by the nuances of the movement of Freon inside the compressor of the device.
