How to install a deflector

The deflector is a special plastic product, installed on the hood or side windows of the car in order to protect them from a powerful air flow, which is formed during the movement, as well as from dirt and stones flying out of the wheels in front of the running transport. This device is attached using special latches or bilateral tape.

Deflectors can be two types: plug-in and glue. Whatever of them you choose for your car - to start with careful cleaning of the installation zones. First, well wash the car with a soap solution and a soft sponge. After the car will die, make the surface degreasing. To do this, an ordinary paper napkin is suitable. Prettyly moisten it with a high alcohol solution and wipe the area to which you plan to fix the deflector.

Otherwise, there is a risk of damaging the paintwork of the car, which is extremely undesirable. Some people think that protective deflectors should be attached to the very top of the door, others are confident that the perfect place of their installation is immediately above the glass. Experts recommend to mount them in the center of the metal frame that goes over the glass. Being in this position, the deflector will create an optimal airflow that will ensure the correct air circulation. It is she protects the details of the car from damage and pollution.

The next step is to remove the protective film from the tape, glued on the inside of the deflector. When the film is completely removed, you can apply a little glue on it, for example, "moment". It will strengthen the fastening of the plastic product to the metal and will not let him fall off on the sink or during heavy rain.

The final stage of the attachment of the adhesive visor is the immediate installation. Focusing on the labels applied earlier, attach it to the car door and tightly press all over the area. Hold it in this position for a few minutes, after which go to the installation of the three remaining parts. After completion of the work, it is advisable not to use the car for 12 hours, during this time the glue is finally dried, and the deflector will be securely fixed.

A plug-in deflector, in contrast to the adhesive, is mounted in the groove located at the top of the door. Squeeze it on the center and paste it into the right place. When you smoke your fingers - the clamps will be disconnected, which will reliably hold the protective product throughout its life. Sometimes the deflector's bevel angle may not correspond to the window's window to the car, in such cases it is allowed to correct it independently. Just do not bent too much - thin plastic may not withstand the load and fled.

At the hood, the deflector is attached using special clamps. Little loosen the screws located in the front of the wind. After that, open the hood of the car and put on its front of the deflector. Do it so that the end of the hood is inside the locking clamps. Correct the position of plastic protection - it should not impede the free opening and closing of the hood. Using a screwdriver, tighten the screws firmly and close the cover - the installation is completed!
