You can connect a video recorder in various places: for this, a mirror with autocession is suitable, a cabin lighting plander (this method is considered a classic), rain sensor. If you use the second method, you will have to remove the plaffones to stretch the cable, so consider less traumatic. Two other methods are not very different, but it is easier to get to the rain sensor. Therefore, consider it.

The rain sensor is connected to the wiring of the machine with the PAP-Mom connector (three-stroke). You can choose the necessary connectors on the radio electronics market. It will cost you much cheaper than buying them in a specialized store. You can use PLS-40 as the "Dad" connector (in the kit there are 40 pins, it will be necessary to separate 3 pieces), and BLS-1-3 will be suitable for the "Mom" connector (you will get it with receiving jacks).

So, we have to collect a "double", which will go to the regular wiring from one end, and from the other it will be split at the rain sensor and the video recorder. To protect the system from a short circuit, in that part that is suitable for the video recorder, we will add a fuse (1a). This connection scheme has a number of benefits:
almost all works are held at home, in the car you will spend up to 5 minutes - you will only need to install the design;
the regular wiring of the car will not be affected (this connector can even be removed before that - it will be unnoticed);
ratings of consumption are not exceeded.

As for the DVR, it can feed from voltage + 12V and + 5V. In the first case, cut the standard plug into the car cigarette lighter, connect the wire with "-" or "+" in the harvested connector. If the voltage is 5V, remove the scarf that reduces the pressure from the plug. In the weekend "+" and "-" of this board, connect "dad" (then it will be necessary to connect to "mom").

Now it remains for small: install the resulting design in the car. You should take with you "Double", a power wire, a video recorder. Be careful that the connectors do not turn over 180 ° C.
