How to remove windows 7 from a computer

There are different ways to remove the operating system from the hard disk of the computer. All of them depend on the specific features of the installed OS and the desired final result. Below we consider the most common tasks when removing Windows 7.

Removing windows 7 from a computer when installing another system

If you are going to part with the current OS, wanting to change it to another, special means to remove the already available will not need. In almost all distributions there is a hard disk formatting function before unpacking new files on it. Consider this process on the installation example from the external medium of Windows 8.

• we leave from the running operating system, clicking "Start" -\u003e "Reboot";
• we connect a flash drive to a computer with a system, disk or any other distribution carrier;
• before the monitor appears the "window" logo, press the hot key to select the device from which we want to boot (specifically our carrier with OS);
• depending on the manufacturer, this menu can be called the F2, F8, F12 buttons or others;
• if you do not want to experiment with the buttons - go to the BIOS and on the Boot tab -\u003e "Device Priority", select the disk to which the PC will turn first;
• when the installation menu appears, specify the preferred language, click Install, enter the license key, accept the use agreement;
• the next window will ask you which section you need to install a new system;
• choose a section on which Windows 7 is located (marked as "system");
• click the "Format" button under the selection menu;
• the section cleaning will be automatically produced;
• when the process is completed, the installer will notify you (to continue the installation just click on "Next" and follow the recommendations from the screen).

How to remove windows 7 from the computer - the removal of one of several OS

In cases where there is more than one operating system on the computer, the removal process occurs is a little different. To start it, we will do this sequence of actions:

• press the "Win + R" buttons to call the "Run" window;
• we enter the command "msconfig" in it, send the "Enter" button to execute;
• the "System Configuration" window opens, go to the "Load" section;
• below we see the list of operating systems installed on the computer;
• click on the one we want to erase;
• under the selection menu, click on the "Delete" button;
• to confirm the changes, also click at the very bottom to "apply" and "OK";
• The OS will be completely removed.

Removing Windows 7 without formatting

When installing new versions of Windows, if the pre-cleaning of the partition was not made, the previous version of the OS (in our case - Windows 7) can be saved in the Windows.old folder, taking a decent place on the hard disk. Remove it easily with full-time means of the functioning system. For this:

• go to the "computer";
• select the disc on which Windows.old is located;
• i click on it with the right mouse button, select "Properties" context menu;
• in the properties window, on the General tab, click the "Clear Disk" button;
• when the computer finishes the analysis, from the bottom to the left, click "Cleaning System Files";
• in the new search results, leave a tank opposite the "Previous Settings" item;
• click "OK", the deletion will automatically.

It should be remembered that the Windows 7 removal methods proposed in some manuals by renaming folders or open access to them are not correct and can provoke instability in the current OS operation.
