How to make skewers

Skewers are of different types of brazier, barbecue, mangals and smokehouses, which in turn can be stationary or portable. Consider the construction of the most durable and reliable brick skewers.

First of all, you need to choose a place to build a brick mangaal. It should be an open space away from other buildings. Building materials are involved in work:

  • Level, shovel, buckets.
  • Crushed stone or gravel, cement, sand.
  • Steel bars for cutting reinforcement, reinforcement grid for creating grate or crate.
  • Forage-resistant brick.
  • Concrete mixer.

After determining the location of the barbecue, we build the foundation for it. Since the brick brand will have a relatively large weight, then the preparation of the base is simply necessary. If you want to avoid cracks and splits of the future brazier, then we make the fundamental basis of concrete or booton:

  • We fall asleep at the bottom of the thones of the large diameter.
  • Gaps between stones fill in rubble.
  • We prepare cement mortar with a sand ratio to cement 3: 1, pour stones.
  • After the first layer is frozen, we make a second layer and the third.
  • The very last row of foundation after hardening is covered with polyethylene film. To ensure waterproofing the design, we fold the film six times.
  • We build a formwork, lay it out of its runneroid or pulling out the bituminous mass from the inside to avoid cement leakage.

The foundation from concrete under the brick barbecue is done like this:

  • The first thing will be rid of the bottom of the cottage with wet sand.
  • We build a formwork from plywood, put the reinforcement rods or the grid onto the bottom and fill with the concrete mixture.
  • After complete hardening of the concrete solution, we make waterproofing in the same way as for the foundation from the booton: we put the polyethylene film into six rows.
  • Build a base for firebox: brick in two rows.

The next step is performed by laying bricks. Works are carried out not earlier than seven days after the fill of the foundation. The main criterion for choosing brick is high heat resistance, choose chamotte or chimney brick, for example. It is important that the brick easily tolerate the temperature differences, as the barbecue will stand on the street all year round.

Further:

  • Place the perimeter, along which we will lay out the brick.
  • Before laying, the whole brick is well watering the usual water. This is done the day before the planned construction of the manga, so that the brick does not absorb moisture from the connecting solution.
  • The first row is placed from the whole brick and its halves dry.
  • We mix the fastening mixture of three parts of sand and one part - cement and lime, all this is diluted with water to high density.
  • The grains of bricks are stacked with corners, thoroughly align them vertically. Rows are necessarily bandaged with halves of bricks.
  • Build the base for the furnace: we put the brick in two rows.

Placeing the last rows, fasten the lattice. Leave air gaps. A layer of acrylic varnish can be applied to the brick bracket or pollute the brick surface. An excellent decor will serve as an ordinary ceramics tile. Be sure to consider the zone for collecting smoke. It is necessary so that the barbecue does not smoke.

Schelving options Very much: You can set the chimney over the brazier on four columns, and you can leave so that simplifies the design to a minimum. Before starting brickwork, it is recommended to draw a pattern of the pattern, as your skewer should look, and follow this scheme in the process of construction.
