Every owner of a bicycle knows: if the "two-wheeled friend" began to creak like an old wardrobe, it's time to dismantle and clean the back of the sleeve. How to do it correctly, you can learn of the information below for detailed instructions.
1
Remove the bicycle rear wheel. Thoroughly wash it under running water, so that during the disassembly of the rear sleeve not been put sand or dirt. Then remove the tape carefully. To do this, use the following tools - puller cassettes (to unscrew slotted nut) and an adjustable or ring spanner (using one of the keys you need to rotate the stripper).
2
When disassembling the back of the sleeve, you will remove the fine details. So they do not get lost and do not "run away", podstelil advance under the wheel of a sheet of paper or canvas - so all parts are in place and not get dirty in case of a fall on the floor, and during the assembly will not have to mess around in search of the necessary items.
3
Begin disassembly rear sleeve from the left side. To begin, remove the rubber boot (if available). Locate the lock nut and the cone. On the latter, there are two flat cut a cone wrench. Using this key (often suitable tool by 15 mm), hold the cone spanner (tools 17 mm) at this time loosen the locknut.
4
Remove the lock nut and washer with all axis. By the way, different number of washers and bushings, and their size may vary. An important caveat: removing parts, worn on, be sure to memorize the order of the axis, so that later (at assembly time) to not mix anything. It is safest to arrange them in a row on the paper or canvas.
5
Further, a tapered cone wrench, unscrew and remove it from the shaft. On the right side (in the place where the ratchet) gently pull the axle with the right cone. Be careful, because of sleeves, for sure, dusting bearing balls. Now evaluate the amount of lubricant in the bearings if it is sufficient and it is clean, put the axle into place and start the adjustment sleeve.
6
If the lubricant is dirty either, it is small, carefully pull the bearing balls from the sleeve (if they, of course, did not pour themselves). On each side, they are usually 9-10 pieces. There are such rear sleeves, where the bearing balls are in a special cutting separator. In this case, the entire clip is removed.
7
Then a soft cloth, pre-dipped in kerosene, thoroughly wipe the housing housing to remove the old lubricant. Small metal spare parts (cones, balls, washers) rinse in kerosene, then dry on a clean canvase.
Following the foregoing instructions, cope with such a task as the disassembly of the rear sleeve, even a beginner cyclist will be able.
