How to lay linoleum on a wooden floor

The old wooden floor, which has lost its initial attractiveness, can be made with the help of linoleum - an affordable, durable and user-friendly flooring.

Preparation of the working foundation. Before starting the installation of linoleum, it is necessary to put the base of the floor. Squares and cracks in boards, scripting flooring, caught paint, rotten lags - all these defects should be eliminated before laying outdoor coverage.

So, in order:

from cracks, gaps and other similar flaws are getting rid of acrylic putty and parquet mastic;
scripping boards are strengthened with narrow rails and long self-drawing;
quickly clean the floor from the old paint coating can be as follows: First, the constructional base is heated by the construction haze, then the steel spatula is praised;
minor irregularities are cleaned with a grinding machine, protruding burrs cleaned with sandpaper;
mold-affected and rotten boards will have to be replaced by new ones.

Preparation of linoleum. Before direct installation, the linoleum is spread on the floor, carefully roll up and leave in this form to two-three days - during this period, the flooring "gets used to" to the new humidity and air temperature.

Alignment of the base. In order for the linoleum coating over time, the characteristic wooden relief, the floor base is aligned by laying sheet lumber (DVP, chipboard, osb). For the intermediate layer, the moisture-resistant plywood with a thickness of 15-20 mm is perfect.

Installation of the substrate for linoleum is performed in the following order:

plywood sheets are cut into rectangles / squares, taking into account the area and layout planning;
the prepared parts are decomposed on the floor, customized in size and numbered;
when laying between sheets, small gaps must be left for possible expansion of the material when the temperature and humidity differences are indoors;
the panels are placed with a rough side up, a traditional PVE or parquet glue is used as a cool composition;
additionally, the leaf canvas is fixed with self-drawing, withstanding the step between the fasteners of 15-20 cm;
waiting for a complete glue burnt, all the joints and gaps are sealed with mastic or elastic putty for wood (it can be prepared independently of PVA, gypsum and wood flour adhesive);
after drying the putty, the plywood base is grinning or sandwich.

An important nuance! For reliability and stability, plywood sheets are mounted on the principle of brick and shifting or in a checkerboard.

Laying linoleum. After alignment of the floor, the plywood can be started to lay the linoleum. There are several options for mounting this floor covering:

besleless flooring (used in small rooms with an area of \u200b\u200bup to 10-12 sq.m., in more spacious premises, with free laying, the likelihood of the appearance of "waves") is large;
adhesive flooring (linoleum mounting is carried out using double-sided tape or special adhesive / mastic).

Linoleum landing technology for bilateral tape:

first remove the lower protective film from the tape and glue it to the floor surface in such a way that the lattice with small cells is obtained;
next to the floor laid linoleum and neatly bend in half;
then lift the left edge of the canvas to the fold line, remove the upper protective tape from the tape, lowered the linoleum to the floor and carefully smooth towards the walls;
similarly glue the right edge of the canvas;
surplus linoleum is cut by the mounting knife or cutter.

An important nuance! So that the kennels are reliable and neat, all seams are filled with a special composition for cold welding.

Linoleum laying technology for glue:

first, the working base and the inner side of the linoleum are covered with primer;
after that, the roll is placed on the floor and gently bend down in half;
bending one half, glue to the open outdoor surface;
then the folded part of the linoleum is barefit, pressed to the floor and well smoothed the rubber roller in different directions to remove air bubbles;

similarly glue the second half of the linoleum.

An important nuance! The coating is necessarily placed with the allen in 2-3 cm to simultaneously cut both edges. The cutting of the joints are performed 24-36 hours after the flooring with a sharp stationery knife and a long spatula or metal line. The seams are carefully cleaned from the excess adhesive composition and pressed flat cargo to a complete burden.

To avoid strain and losing linoleum, on the legs of a heavy furniture, dying protective "caps", and under the points of support of household appliances, put pieces of dense cardboard or felt.
