Wall decoration with decorative stone gives the interior sophistication and comfort. Any type of finishing work has its own technology. Laying of decorative stone is no exception.
1
Stack laying depends on its shape. Rectangular tiles are glued in rows. Oval -shaped stones are arbitrarily. When laying stone in rows, mark the horizontal line in terms of level. The elements that have the wrong shape first on the floor to have an idea in which sequence to glue them.
2
It is better to glue a stone from top to bottom. This is especially important when the wall is covered completely in height. Starting the installation from the floor, it is difficult to calculate the mark of the first row so that the elements in the last row do not need a trim. With this method of laying is less likely that the adhesive will fall on the front surface of the stone.
3
To lay gypsum stone, use gypsum base glue. Cement and natural stone are laid on glue with cement content. When laying on a gypsum solution, warm the surface. If you work with a cement mixture, moisten with water.
4
Decorative stone often has uneven edges. Tiles may differ in width. Check the horizontality of the row by level. In order to align the stone, use special wedges. External corners are decorated with corner elements.
5
Immediately wipe the glue that came to the front side. When using gypsum or cement mortar, there is a possibility of stain the finished wall. If the stone is glued with separate fragments, use a light gypsum stone that can be glued to liquid nails.
6
Do not glue the decorative stone directly to the wallpaper. Cut the wallpaper with a construction knife and remove their part so that it is possible to glue the stone on a clean wall. At the edges, the element should overlap the wallpaper by 1.5-2 cm. After laying, apply varnish to the surface of the stone. The varnish gives the color saturation and serves as a protective film from damage and pollution.
Proper preparation of the surface, the choice of adhesive and accuracy in the work will help you create an original interior decoration that will last for many years.
