There is a group of operating systems operating on the basis of the UNIX kernel. The most famous among them are Distributions Ubuntu, Linux and Fedora. In this case, not all programs are able to work simultaneously in various versions of Windows and Linux. Therefore, to use some games and other software on a computer with OS Linux you may need to launch windows. To do this, within the operating system, another is activated using special programs. Consider installing a Windows virtual OS on the example of Linux Mint in the KDE graphics shell and cross-browser VirtualBox.

To install Windows on Linux, prepare a virtual environment, which will work as OS. There are a number of virtualizer programs for this. We use the free and cross-browser development of Oracle called VirtualBox. To install it in Linux Mint, go to "Application Manager" ("Software Manager"). In other Linux-like operating systems, there is also this section, but its design may differ.

In the window that appears, there are partitions with all applications available for installation and search string at the top of the right. Enter there "VirtualBox" without quotes and wait for the list of appropriate packages requests and applications.

Creating a working environment for a virtual operating system takes 20-30 minutes. After that, close the VirtualBox and transfer the ISO image from Windows to the folder you created earlier (step 7).

Restart the program. If everything passed without errors, on the left you will see a virtual machine available for operation. Activate it using the "Start" icon on the top panel. Loading the Windows operating system via VirtualBox occurs similarly to launch directly on the computer.
