It all begins with the choice of a suitable material for the manufacture of the mirror. The following stages are its purification, preparation for the process of silvering, kneading a special solution, silvering, drying and creating a decoration for a new product. Consider each of the items in more detail.

Material for processing. Prepare high-quality glass designed for the manufacture of the mirror. It is worth noting that you can exacerbate not only glass, but also faience, dishes from clay. It is permissible to use a tree or metal, but before the process it is necessary to cover them with a layer of pre-molten paraffin. The easiest way to apply simple glass. Make sure it does not have cracks and any damage.

Cleaning the material. Before use, thoroughly clean the glass from different stains. The achievement of a prosperous result affects both the purity of the prepared solutions (which will be discussed on) and the purity of the material used:

If fat spots are present on the glass, to determine it into a solution of caustic potassium 15%.
Milk stains are not washed away. They can be eliminated by grinding crocus.
To remove paint, lower the material into the solution of caustic soda.
To remove an old silver layer, use nitric acid.
To remove the old tip, use the chromium mixture. It can be prepared independently. Pour into the capacity of 400-500 g of water and add 10-12 g of chromube there, then 4-6 cm of concentrated sulfuric acid.

Preparation for silvering. After cleaning, it is well rolled by a glass with distilled water and lubricate with fine powder from the rejected chalk to use. When you are ready for the silver process, rinse the glass again. You can also heat distilled water up to 30-40 degrees and lower the glass to the use. Remember that after a thorough flushing to the material it is impossible to touch with your hands, otherwise there will be unnoticed oily spots, for which the silver layer does not fall. As a result, all the work will be a pump. Use pieces of clean fabric or sterile rubber gloves.

Silvering process. Take 1.6 g nitrogen silver and mix it with 30 ml of purified water. Then, add a solution of ammonia to 25% as long as the sediment disappears. Add another 100 ml of purified water and 5 ml of formalin 40%. Silver solution is ready. Put the glass in the bath or other container. If you want to skate only one side of the glass, put it on 3-4 pieces of glass so that there is a distance between the bath and the material. Pour into it the manufactured composition so that it covers the bottom and only the lower side of the glass. You can pour the glass with a solution completely, but then the two sides are wider. Wait about seven minutes and carefully pull the mirror without touching the surface. Thoroughly rinse it with distilled water, then put it vertically and dried at 100-150 degrees. To prevent possible damage in the future, cover the oil paint mirror (Surik, diluted in linen oil).

Decoration. You can make a beautiful frame of any form of cardboard, fabric or other girlfriend, and then decorate it with sparkles, rhinestones, ribbons, stickers and other jewelry that you will like to taste. Some of them can be applied directly to the mirror itself. Turn on the fantasy and create your own unique decoration!
