Strip weld with electric welding to the side shelf of the corner. In no case do not use fasteners with rivets or bolted connection. If you can enter directly into the shield itself of the ground ribbon, then you can do without wire. This method is even more preferable, as it allows to reduce the resistance of the ground loop.
