Peach trees are very valued as bringing a large harvest, pouring trees. Fruits themselves have a stunning taste and are widely used in cooking. But in order for peaches to be delicious and large, the trees on which they grow, it is necessary to trim correctly.
1
Fruit from peaches not all branches - but only those that grow at an angle to the ground at least 45 degrees. If there is horizontal branches on your peach tree, cut them off, they will not be fruit. Most often, the peach tree is trimmed so that it resembles the shape of the bowl - so the sun will better illuminate all branches, and the development of fruits will go more active.
2
Crop peach trees in spring and autumn. In the spring, the main trimming is carried out: pay attention to the number of fruit-eyed branches, do not overload the tree. Recall that nutrients in peach trees are moving along the trunk and vertical branches - here they will be fruit. It is best to crop branches and shoots on them, leaving on every two kidneys.
3
It is possible to stimulate the development of the side branches, the adoption of the top escape. This is done, by the way, when landing a peach, and when the age of 3-4 years is reached, the central branches are trimmed very short.
4
After you removed the crop, in the autumn you should make another trimming of the branches of the peach tree. The upper branch is cut very briefly, running out of it to cut up to two kidneys. If you have a richly fruiting tree, then leave 80 vertical branches, if weakly fruiting, the number of vertical branches can be increased to 100-150.
5
If you have noticed that the yield of the tree decreased, you can carry out a rejuvenating trimming. To do this, remove all branches with age 4 years old and older. All younggood, which will grow for the season, in the fall also need to be removed.
Peach is a high-growing tree, so the correct pruning will increase the yield, value and taste of fruits. This provides good lighting of the branches, the correct power distribution, extends the life of the tree, stimulates development and prevents wintering.
