How to place an invitation to a foreigner to Russia

The legislative framework

The order of registration of invitations to enter Russia is regulated Law "On the legal status of foreigners in the Russian Federation". Such a document is issued with the aim of:

work in Russia;
training and advanced training of a foreigner;
business visit (exchange of experience, conducting international presentation, etc.);
trips to visit to relatives.

The legislation of the Russian Federation established category Personswhich may apply to the Migration Service Representative (FMS) for the invitation:

citizens of Russia of adult age;
foreign persons constantly staying on the territory of the Russian Federation;

Document package

the original passport of the applicant;
a scan copy of the identity of a foreign person, for which the document is issued;
a petition for the invitation of a certain sample (in 2 copies);
warranty document obliging to contain a foreigner in a material, housing and medical terms for its stay in Russia;
certificate indicating the level of income of the host;
receipt of payment of duty in the amount of 800 rubles (an exception is the invitation to pass into the municipal institution);
a copy of the contract (if the document is needed for work activities).

An employee of the migration service must necessarily check all the documents filed, and if they are filled correctly, it issues a certificate of the established sample, which assures the fact of their receipt. The term of providing a response to the appeal of citizens is about 20 calendar days. Except may be "special cases" (death or severe disease of a close relative), which contribute to the acceleration of this procedure up to 3-5 days. These facts need to be confirmed documented. Failure to issue

By the legislation of the Russian Federation If there is good grounds, the relevant authority has the right to refuse to issue an invitation in the Russian Federation. This happens when:

A foreign person creates a public threat or opposes the legislative framework of the host.
The invited has a conviction for grave crimes, is associated with terrorist acts or fake documents;
A foreigner over the past 5 years has been deported or a violent expulsion from the country.
