Apple's specialists have developed the most advanced system recovery mechanism in which this function is practically not in demand - IMAC is well protected and running smoothly. But even experienced users may fail. You can restore the iMac in several ways.
1
If an error is detected in the IMAC work, the Mac OS X utility menu will open automatically. You have the opportunity to run it yourself. Before this, check out the health of the Internet and the ability to access the App Store. Restart the iMac and hold the COMMAND and R buttons at the same time. In the Mac OS X utilities menu, open the section "Disk Utility". Then open the item "First Aid" and "Correct Disk". The program itself will find a problem and will quickly eliminate it. If the application failed to detect and eliminate the error, you will have to reinstall the system completely.
2
In the Mac OS X menu menu, you have to "restore from the Time Machine backup". This option allows you to restore all the data of a certain date of the past time. The system will prompt you to choose a disk on which there is a saved copy. Do it and perform all subsequent prompts. A backup can be transferred only to that IMAC from which it was created. If you want to install files to a new device, use "Migration Assistant".
3
There is another way to restore iMac. Enter the "Mac OS X" panel again. This time, select "Reinstall Mac OS X". The system will ask you to select the desired disk. Most likely it will be the only proposed option. You can first clean it or reinstall with data saving. Make a choice. If you want to configure other programs, select "Set up" and follow further prompts.
4
You can restore the standard IMAC settings. To do this, you will have to delete all the information. Therefore, before this procedure, save the necessary data on the external drive. Go to the Mac OS X utilities menu. Go to the section "Disc utility" and open "erase". A new menu will be displayed.
5
Open the "Mac OS Extended" option. Specify the name of the list and select "Erase". After this procedure in the "Disc utility" tab, specify "complete the disk utility". Then in the Mac OS X utilities menu, open the "Reinstall Mac OS X". Perform all further prompts. After this procedure, you can copy all the data from the saved copy of Time Machine.
6
If your iMac is standing Mac OS X Lion, you can reinstall it using the built-in reducing disk. It allows you to reinstall Mac OS X, restore a hard disk and data from a copy of Time Machine. To start the recovery disk, restart the iMac and press the "Command" and "R" buttons at the same time. You can do everything else with tips. Also, you have the ability to create an external recovery disk.
7
To do this, download the Lion Recovery Disk Assistant program. Insert an empty disk and run the program. Follow further prompts. After creating a recovery disk, the section with it will no longer be displayed in the Mac OS X utilities menu. To restore, you need to insert a restoration disc, restart the iMac and click the "Option" button. In the boot manager, select "Recovery HD". The system will tell you what to do next.
