How to install a video card

The times of computers that worked on only console teams remained far in the past. On their replacement, the age of a live picture was comfortable, be it 3D, HD or a regular format. This transition we owe the motherboard with the name of the video card, which translates the digital commands from the processor into the image on our monitors. But the question of its proper installation is always relevant, as the development of computer equipment does not stand still and sometimes manufacturers please us with new items. We hope that this article will help correctly replace the video card.

1
To start, delete all the drivers of the old video card. This must be done so that there are no conflict situations in search of drivers in the future when the video adapter is running. Right-click on the computer icon, which is on the desktop. In the menu that opens, select Device Manager. In a new window, look for "video adapters", in it all information related to your video card will be displayed. Now you click on this icon twice and go to the "Properties" submenu, after select the Driver tab and click Delete.

2
Next, you must turn off the computer from the power supply. Also pull out all the cords and from the system unit. Then unscrew all the screws and remove the lid. Here you will make the video card itself, do not reject it right away, and first unscrew the fastening screw, and then slightly remove the card itself. Exactly the opposite is replaced. We repeat - you don't need to apply the power, otherwise you can damage contacts or the motherboard case. Return the cover from the system unit and you can connect cords.

3
The next step will be the installation of drivers. When you bought a video card, you walked a disk with the settings. Insert it into the drive and in the Driver section, select "Set", then the system will do everything for you. The second way is the download of the driver from the manufacturer's website, just download the version for your model of the video adapter. To make sure that everyone is right, we go along the same way as in the first point, and see if the map icon appeared. All, installation is finished!

4
Now let's talk about the possible installation problems. The first snag may occur when mounting the video card on the motherboard. The fact is that there are two types of connections - PCI and AGP, while the first is newer, it is not suitable for old motherlies on the AGP connector and simply will not be inserted. Find out which of these species you can, you can in printed characteristics on the board itself. You should also mention the problem of the power supply. Usually, in a standard assembly, it goes with a power of 350 W, and when installing a new video card, you must have from 400 to 550 W, so it may be necessary to install a new power supply. And if you have become the happy owner of the game video card, then do not worry, it feeds separately, directly from the outlet.

And finally, a few words about replacing video cards on a laptop. It is much more complicated than on a personal computer, and therefore, if you do not have the appropriate experience, contact the service better, otherwise you can damage third-party boards that will affect the right robot of your laptop.
