How to install Windows XP drivers

After connecting a new equipment or reinstalling Windows XP, the problem of installing drivers inevitably arises. In fact, it is not as difficult as it might seem.

1
If we have a disk with proprietary software for the required device or assembly with drivers for all components of this computer (usually in the set to laptops), then you can immediately start installing. Otherwise, we are looking for a driver on the Internet by the manufacturer and the name of the device model. Be sure to check the compatibility of downloaded drivers with the operating system installed by us.

2
The very process of installing the driver in automatic mode is practically no different from the installation of any other software. On a disk or in a downloaded folder with drivers, we start the installer and follow simple instructions.

3
But there are times when a package of drivers does not have an automatic installer. Then we install the drivers manually. We go to the device manager (the properties of “My computer” - “Device Manager”), where we open the properties of the necessary equipment and in the “Driver” tab “Remove ...” or “Install ...”. In the equipment owed, select “Installation from the specified place”, then indicate the path with drivers (downloaded folder or CD-disco) and wait until the program searches and install the driver. It can take a few minutes.

As a result of the successful installation of drivers, new equipment will be completely ready for use. We recommend that after updating the system configuration, restart the computer, even if it himself does not require this.
