How to make a chair with your own hands

Today you will learn how to make a bright model for summer holiday from an old aluminum chair. Unfortunately, in many country chairs, the straps are quickly wearing, so you can give them a new life. Using the macrama technique, you can create a bright geometric pattern of several cord motors.

1
Expendable materials:

  • aluminum chair
  • cord of various colors for macrame (length in the amount of 380-400 cm, depending on the size of the chair),
  • scissors.

2
Fully remove the straps from the chair, cutting the belts with scissors.

3
Start wrapping the basis. Decide the color from which you want to get started. Tie a double knot around the bottom tube and leave the tail about 13 cm. Wrap the cable under the central panel and stretch up by making the turn around the top of the frame. Then wrap the cord down under the bending of the chair, tightly placing it next to the first twist.

4
Continue until you want to change the color of the cord. Tie a double knot around the top or bottom edge of the frame, depending on where you are. Make sure you have enough ropes to secure the end. You can link two or three colors.

5
In order to start weaving in another direction, simply tie the cord from the frame with a double knot and leave about 13 cm of the tail. In order to make a triangle drawing, skip the cord under the first four rows and fill it back under four lines at the other end. Wrap the cable around the tube and return back.

6
Miss the cord (similar to step 5), but now the six rows of ropes are left on top of work. Then return back, in the same order, as walked.

7
Continue to repeat the two-line cut pattern every time you go ahead and return. This will create a triangular pattern. Continue to go until you decide to change the color of the cord.

8
Your work should have three triangles at the bottom and on the back of the chair. If you alter the adult model, use a thicker cord for macrame.

9
Cut free tails, but not too short, so that you can fix them into the pattern. Remember that if you arrange the rows too close to the rounded edges, they will slide and distort the drawing. The thin cord looks more beautiful, but requires more zeal from the master.

10
The update of the chair in this technique requires certain costs of time and funds, but the final outcome is able to cause admiration of friends and loved ones. You can always experiment with flowers and patterns.
