How to make a drainage system

Drainage is a system that diverts rain or flood water from the soil from the foundation and allows you to contain the basement with dry. With independent execution, it costs inexpensively, and the spent efforts will pay off a long service life of the building. Consider how to organize a drainage system on your own.

1
The work uses tools:

  • Shovel;
  • Level;
  • The pistol is adhesive.

Materials will also be needed:

  • Drainage pipes with a diameter of 110 mm or more, in an amount sufficient for styling around the whole house;
  • Geokan with a width of 2 m and length, based on the perimeter of the building;
  • Pipes with a diameter of 315 mm for a well - their number depends on the angles of rotation (usually 4 pcs.);
  • Lids and plugs of wells;
  • Connecting couplings;
  • Small gravel - 0.2 cubes are enough for 1 m backfill.

2
A trench with a width of 0.5 m with a slope of 2 cm per meter is dug to the depth of the foundation. Its bottom is closed with geotextile and poured 20-30 cm of gravel. Drainage pipes are laid, controlling the tilt for water drainage.

3
In wide pipes, at a distance of 30 cm from the bottom, holes for the couplings are cut, which are welded by a glue gun. Prepared drainage wells are installed at the corners of the structure and connected to the pipes.

4
At the output of the system, a diverted to a well for collecting water is performed. The pipes on top are covered with a layer of gravel (about 20 cm), geots are wrapped. Now the pits are filled with the ground and the viewing covers are mounted - the drainage is ready.

For the normal operation of the drainage system, the well examination and cleaning of the wells is periodically carried out, and once every 8-10 years, the pipes are washed with a pump. A properly arranged drainage detachment with timely maintenance is able to last at least 50 years. All stages of work are clearly shown on the video.
