How does the touchpad works

TouchPad is a universal cursor control device that completely replaces the computer mouse on the laptop. But it has a small permission that does not allow working with graphic programs.

1
The touchpad is a flat touchpad containing a printed circuit board package. The panel more often has a rectangular shape with an area of \u200b\u200bno more than 50 cm ². Located below the keyboard and is slightly recessed into the laptop housing.

2
The principle of operation of the touchpad consists in measuring the capacity between the built-in sensors or in the measurement of the tank of the finger. When touching the finger, which is the conductor, the electric field change occurs to the design of the touchpad. Due to the location of the sensors on the vertical and horizontal axes it is possible to accurately determine the position of the finger and translate the cursor to the desired location on the monitor screen.

3
Among the manipulators, touchpad is positive features:

  • in the design there are no movable parts;
  • it does not require a smooth surface and a large space for operation, both for a mouse;
  • compact location allows you to increase performance when working on a laptop device;
  • the side of the touchpad replaces the scroll wheel to move vertically and horizontally;
  • double pressing replaces the manipulation of the left mouse button;
  • an increase and decrease in the scale of images using staging and stretching with your fingers;
  • selection and moving objects with double touch of the finger.

4
Working with touchpad does not require special skills and software installations. When the wired mouse is connected, the touchpad continues to work. To shut down, you must press the "Fn" key and one of the function keys from "F1" to "F12". Some laptop models are equipped with special shutdown and touchpad operation buttons.

TouchPad does not require special care and does not interfere with a laptop keyboard keys. The surface is reliably protected from dust, garbage and moisture.
