How to turn on the keyboard

Although sensory control on tablets and phones has become very popular, but it could not replace the keyboard in computers and laptops. After all, this method of entering commands is most convenient and has several advantages over other options. And the order of connection or repair is much easier than in sensors or touchpads, which let's figure it out how to turn on the keyboard.

1
To date, it is possible to distinguish two types of keyboards, which differ only on the cable plug. This "USB" keyboard and its more ancient option - with PS / 2 adapter. It is quite simple to distinguish between them: if the connector is the same as on any flash drive, it means that this is the first type, if not, then the second one. The USB keyboard will connect to one of the four ports behind the system unit, understand where they are quite simple. There are also two "PS / 2" connectors from the motherboard, one painted in green, where the old sample mouse will connect. And the second port is purple, it needs to connect the keyboard of the second type. To simplify the task, a small visual scheme is presented:

USB keyboards are sometimes not working due to the fact that they are disabled in the BIOS system. To connect it, you will need an adapter to the PS / 2 connector, usually such an adapter is included in the purchase of a keyboard or mouse. You can leave this design, it will work in any case, and you can change the system settings to do without an adapter, it is only possible to solve it. If you have selected the second option, then first go to the "BIOS" menu and find the "USB Keyboard Support" string. Next to it, on the indicator, changing the arrow of the "Disabled" keyboard (turned off) to "Enabled" (enabled), save the changes and reboot the computer.

With laptops, the situation is a bit different, the keyboard can be turned on by just pressing a specific key combination. For example, many novice lovers online MMORPG games to start the digital part can erroneously clamp the "Fn + Numlock" buttons and block the keyboard entirely. To return everything back, use the same combination. But in most models of laptops, the unlocking keys - "Fn + F12" or "Win + FX" (instead of X, here any number from 1 to 12, depending on the model and brand of the laptop).

4
Sometimes there is a situation where the keyboard does not work, but urgently need to enter the text or print a fragment of the document, for this you can use the "screen keyboard". It is extremely uncomfortable, but as an emergency can well be consolidated. To enable it, go along the way "Start - All Programs - Standard - Special Features - Screen Keyboard". It is pretty easy to use it, each key is responsible for the real analogue, and if you do not cover the alphabet button, you will receive a clamping effect, except the "Capslock" key. By the way, the input language cannot be changed on such a keyboard, you will have to use the "language panel".

We hope that your keyboard will never break "truly", since the new will cost you quite expensive, and laptops will have to even carry in a computer service.
