Another common way to counterfeit passport is to replace individual pages or their removal. Remember that no page should act in the passport beyond other pages, all of them must be the same size. The passport of the old sample has dimensions of 88x125 mm, the corners on the cover are rounded. It consists of 20 pages: from 4 P15 and from 18 to 19 stitsa numbered. All sheets are sewn with green, red threads in a precipitated way, the stitch step is 6 ± 0.5 mm. The cover is made of synthetic material, it includes embossing (the image of the coat of arms of the Russian Federation and the words "passport" and "Russian Federation"). Number and passport series on each page must match.

If there is a stamp on the passport, notifying that the document is subject to exchange, it also indicates that the passport is invalid. Special colorless paint, manifested under the influence of UV radiation, the word "passport" is applied on page 2, and on page 3 - "Russia" in large letters in the center. In addition, page 3 has a coating of a laminating film, red lines and patterns, repeating words "MIA of Russia" are applied to it. Since 2011, a new film is used for lamination with the inscription "RF" and the hologram. On all pages of the passport on the clearance, a special three-tone regularly repeated watermark "RF" should be visible.

Passports of the new sample are produced from 01.07.2011. Their main difference - the presence on the third page is at the bottom of the photo of a computer-readable inscription containing basic information about the owner of the document:
type of document (in our case internal passport);
the state where the document is issued;
surname, name, patronymic of the owner of the document;
series, passport number;
citizenship of the owner of the document;
date of birth, sex citizen;
date of expiration date;
additional data.
