How to connect a laptop to an amplifier

To play sound, the laptop has built -in columns that themselves sound good, but sometimes the bass passes poorly. When using it in stationary conditions, it is better to connect an external amplifier to improve sound quality. Connection methods may differ depending on the type of amplifier.

Make a cable for connecting a portable computer to an amplifier with your own hands. The first method of its manufacture is to change the stereo cable. You will need: a shielded wire (2 pcs.) And the “Mini-Jack” plug-a connector with a diameter of 3.5 mm. Save the windings of both wires to the general contact of the connector. Attach the central vein of one wire to the contact of the left canal, and the vein of the second to contact the right channel.

For the manufacture of a cable, the second way will require old stereo from the player. Separate the sound emitters from them. Stir, then tire the ends of the wires. When the wires are correctly connected, take into account the color of their braids: a blue or green wire - the left canal, red - the right, colorless or yellow conductors - common. Before connecting, check the cable for the presence of breaks, they must be eliminated.

If the input plotter of the “tulip” type amplifier is the RCA standard, then two plugs of the same type are needed. Apply the yellow or white wires of the cable from headphones or braid wires to the end contacts of the plugs. Sold the green or blue wiring from the headphones or the central vein of one of the shielded conductors to the pin contact of one of the plugs. Red wire from headphones or central vein of the second shielded wire solder to another plug to its pin contact.

The amplifier can be equipped with an input nest with five conclusions-such as Din (ONC-VG). In this case, only one plug of the same type must be installed at the end of the cable. The cable made in any way attach to the average contact of the connector with common conductors. If the old amplifier, made until 1984, then attach the conductors corresponding to the channels to the pin pins on the left and to the right of the middle one, turning it with soldering to yourself. At the same time, the average conclusion looks up, and the seizure on the block is down. If the amplifier is released later, then the conductors corresponding to the right and left channels, solder to the contacts located to the right of the average contact.

Idequate all places of connection and soldering. Disconnect the amplifier from the power source. To the port of the laptop intended for headphones, attach the cable with one end, the other to the entrance of the amplifier with worse sensitivity. Choose the entrance using a switch. If the entrance with a low sensitivity in the amplifier is absent, then you will have to add one resistor with a resistance of 10 kOhm in series with the cable conductors, which correspond to the channels.

On the amplifier and on the laptop, set the volume to a minimum, then connect the amplifier to the power.

Run any sound file on the laptop. Gradually increase the sound volume on the amplifier and laptop until you hear the sound. Take such a ratio of volume and sound quality by adjusting sound on both devices so that there is practically no sound distortion.

Before connecting the amplifier to the laptop, both devices must be completely de -energized. Otherwise, the preliminary amplifier may fail, as it has a large input resistance.
