How to connect a headset to a laptop

Many laptop models already have built-in microphone and audio colors. The capabilities of the portable computer sound card allow you to additionally connect other sound external devices. Connecting a headset to a laptop is much easier than to a computer, there is no need to install drivers and configuring devices. However, sometimes users have difficulty connected.

First consider the side external laptop panel. The sound card on it has two linear outputs for connecting the microphone and headphones. They can be marked with color, but more often than the corresponding icon. If the marking at the inlet of the green color, then this is the entrance for headphones. The headphone plug is also marked with green. Take the plug by the case and insert into the connector with a headphone symbol or labeled green. When the headphones are connected, it is not necessary to turn off the laptop, the main thing is not to touch the connector hand.

Connect the microphone to the Pink Laptop Video Card connector or with headphone pictogram. The headphones pink plug is also marked with pink color. Both devices are connected and ready to work.

In the Windows 7 operating system, you simply configure the recording and playback. Perform a sequence of actions: "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Equipment and Sound" - "Sound". On the Playback tab, select "Dynamics" double click. Now you can enable and disable the device, adjust the balance levels.

Set the sound playback volume. To do this, do all of the listed actions and in the "Equipment and Sound" menu, select "Volume Setup". Another way is to adjust the volume of the sound using the "Dynamics" icon. It is in the "taskbar" on the right side.

Set the microphone. To do this, in the "Sound" menu, locate the "Record" tab. The onput and sound entry device enabled is marked with a green check mark. Open the microphone panel by double clicking on the microphone marked device. Here you can configure the signal levels, enable or disable the audio input device, set the desired volume level.

Configure sound recording. Enter the "Main Menu" using the Start button. Then go to the "All Programs" folder - "Standard", find "sound recording". Click the Start Record button. Make a trial with a microphone. Then on the recording panel, click "Stop Record". It will be proposed to save the resulting sound file - select the folder to save the file, enter its name, then "Save". Check the record with any installed player.

In other, earlier versions of Windows, the connection and configuration of additional audio input / output devices are made slightly more complicated. To perform the settings similar to the previous items, run a number of actions: Go to the "Standard" folder, find the "Entertainment" folder, you will need manipulations from the "Volume" menu, "Record" menu, "sound recording" in this folder.

When connecting speakers and microphone to laptop, the driver installation is usually not required. When the device is connected to its jack, it will determine itself, and pops up on the screen on the right side the inscription that the microphone is detected and is ready for operation. If this did not happen - install the device driver from the disk, which comes with it, or download it on the Internet.
