The fan for cooling the internal space of the computer or the central processor is called the cooler. On particularly powerful PC, the installation of an additional cooler is simply necessary. Increased temperature may affect the overall stability of the system. The temperature inside the case above the ambient temperature, and the cooler is used for air circulation.

You will need a cooler, it happens different sizes - from 4 to 12 and even 25 cm! But if you have a simple personal computer, two sizes are suitable - 8 or 12 cm. It already depends on the goals set.

Disconnect your computer from the network. Open the side cover of the system unit, on the back of the wall there is a place to fasten the cooler. Using the bolts, attach the fan. Now you need to connect it to work. To do this, determine what to connect it. Depending on what connector you bought a cooler, attach directly to the power supply or to the motherboard.

Connect directly to the plug from the power supply through the PC Plug Connector. Such connections are connected to hard drives, DVD-ROM, etc. If there is an adapter or a hybrid connector, the cooler is connected in a sequential order: the device - the cooler - the power supply.

There is also a Molex connector to connect to the motherboard, it looks like a small block with 2-4 wiring. Miscellaneous amount of wires depends on the functions of the cooler. Two-wire, the simplest scheme is black minus (in all variants, black is negative) and red plus. Three-wire - minus, plus and speed sensor. Four-wire - minus, plus, speed sensor and rotation number control. The latter connection scheme is mainly used for coolers installed on the central processors. They cost expensive and have a narrow specialization. We also need a two-or three-wire cooler, with a constant number of turnover. Connecting a cooler directly to the motherboard has its advantages, the rotation speed control occurs automatically, depending on the temperature inside.

On the motherboard there are free connectors, they are signed: sys_fan, CPU_FAN or CHA_FAN1. The inscription may differ, but the designation FAN (cooler) will be necessary. To this connector we attach a narrow block of fan.

Correctly connected cooler will perform its direct function - air circulation. It may appear an additional source of noise, but more stable system operation compensates.
