How to connect wires to the motherboard

The motherboard is the basis of any computer. It determines which components can be connected to it, and therefore - to which the machine will be capable. All connections are easy to spend yourself if you know what and how to do.

The first thing to be done is to connect the power supply. As follows from the name, it will serve electricity to all components. The following connectors deploy from it:

24-pin (less often - 20) to the motherboard with various "lines" by 3, 5 and 12 V.;
4-PIN by 12 V;
sATA and MOLEX;
discover power.

All connectors have a specific design, thanks to which it is impossible to connect them incorrectly. Therefore, if "nutrition" does not enter the slot without difficulty, it is not necessary to combine them forcibly. Nothing good will not come out of this. Proper connection will be tightly fixed and accompanied by a characteristic click. If everything is done correctly, it will only be supplied to the POWER button, including a computer, as well as Reset and the built-in motherboard speaker. Focusing on the pictures, connect the corresponding sockets along the edges of the board with connectors marked with the inscriptions "Power SW" and "Reset SW". The necessary "pins" on the board is indicated by abbreviations, like PW and RES. Any LED connectors feed the sign light bulbs responsible for various notifications. At this point, it is worth mentioning that incorrectly connected wires are not deadly. The chips will not burn, so if the computer does not start, simply check whether everything is connected in the right way.

To connect a hard disk or drive, the IDE type ATA, SATA or ESATA type is required - it all depends on the existing equipment. It is very difficult to confuse them, so just look at the motherboard and device carefully. Be careful with the right placement of SATA, so as not to break the thin legs of the contacts. Do not forget separately to supply power to the components from the power supply, as shown in the photo.

What and how to connect on the rear panel of the system unit? These connectors also lead to the motherboard. Everything is easier simple. From above is the power connections socket. You can find it on a nearby lattice with a cooler that lead to the power supply. Below are two slots, green and purple for connecting to PS / 2 keyboard or mouse, respectively. Next, there are several USB connectors, which, if desired, can replace PS / 2, and vertically placed slots for connecting to different video equipment. For additional fixation, they can be screwed up with miniature bolts. Three round jacks of one or different colors - connectors for sound devices (columns, microphone, headphones, etc.). Even below, there is a modem input with plastic latch and various slots for connecting special devices.

This process can produce any user by simply by connecting the desired connector with a slot of a suitable form. The main thing is not to rush and produce all connections without the use of force so that the technique remains in a working condition.
