How to repaint car with your own hands

During the operation of the car there is a need to initially small cosmetic repairs, as minor cracks appear, scratches, corrosion. And over time, the car requires a solid painting. If you decide to do it yourself, then you will note that the color of the machine is displayed in the documents and it is impossible to change it! And if you just decided to change the color of the car, then you first need to make appropriate documents in the traffic police.

Before proceeding with painting, the car needs to be prepared. The first thing is carefully mine and let dry. We remove everything you can remove: bumper, lights, headlights, antennas, grid, handles, glass and other finish. The hood and doors are also removed, they are painted separately.

And now we will scrupulously inspect the car for scratches, rust, dents, corrosion. The most vulnerable places are: wings, racks, bottom, thresholds, joints of parts. All problem areas must be well cleaned, where it is necessary - to sharpen. Large dents require straightening, rotting places - welding work. With overhaul or cardinal change of color, the old paintwork must be removed. This can be done with a mechanical way or using various finished paint destroyers.

After removing the old paint and carrying out all repair activities, the car costs to be primed. Before this car weigh and degrease with the help of a rubber moistened with solvent. The primer is applied two or three times, with the help of a compressor or collapse, each layer must dry (when dried, it becomes visually becoming matte). Also, the car can be covered with a special anti-corrosion coating.

Now the process is painting. We prepare the selected paint, for this we dilute it, observing the following proportion: for every 3 kg of enamel - 2 kg of soil and 1/5 from the resulting solvent volume. Before painting again, we rely and degrease the surface of the car, there should be no dust, no pile, otherwise the paint will be lying unevenly. For a good effect, paint is usually applied in three layers. For applying, it is best to use the "crashpult". Each layer must dry, the viscosity of each subsequent layer of paint should be lower than that of the previous one. Apply starting with a hood, smooth reciprocating movements. The distance between the paint pistol and the surface should be 150-250 mm. After the process is completed, we leave the car to dry in the garage or another room, but not open-air and not in the sun. Drying time from 24 to 36 hours.

The final stage of the proper painting of the car is polished. It is necessary, since dust settles on the car after dyeing. We polish with the help of abrasive paste and a special polishing machine, manually do not do it better!
