Despite the fact that the AppData folder is called the system, it is sometimes necessary to access the usual personal computer user. The fact is that this section keeps a lot of information about installed games, applications, programs. Sometimes you need to delete files that remain from unnecessary utilities, and sometimes perform the setting of any game within this folder. In this article, you will learn to find APPDATA, access access, and most importantly, make it visible, along with non-system folders.
Where is the appdata folder
By default, this folder can be found according to the instructions:
- Go to the local disk in the "My Computer" section;
- Next locate the "Users" folder or "Users" in the English version;
- Click on the directory with your account name, it is important not to go to "General" or "guest";
- Select the AppData folder.
This is the fastest and easiest way to proceed to this system folder. However, it works only if you are configured to display hidden system folders. In other cases, you just won't see it.
To proceed to this directory, you must decide for yourself: whether you will configure the display of system files, or simply go to the AppData via the Task Row "Run". The first option is suitable for those who need the AppData folder often, and the second is for one-time use, as it is often uncomfortable to enter the task for you.
How to enter the AppData folder through the quick access string.
If you need to go to this directory a couple of times, and you are not ready to continuously configure the display of system files for this action, then follow the following algorithm:
- Clamp on your keyboard simultaneously the Win + R keys or in the Russian layout of Win + K. No difference.
- You will see a quick access string "Run" on your screen.
- Enter the request "% appdata%" without quotes into the empty field. Click on the "OK" button.
- Immediately, you will open the desired directory. In this way, it is easy to access any folder on the computer, knowing only its name.
How to configure Appdata folder display
To constantly see the system folder you need, it is enough to turn it on. Note that after the execution of this algorithm, you will see absolutely all system folders of your computer, for some users it will become a plus, for others, it is externally improved directories.
- Go to the control panel through the start in the explorer on the desktop.
- In the window that appears, select the section "Design and Personalization". If your badges are displayed quite differently, then find the "View" field on the right and select the "Category" viewer.
- Next, go to the "folder parameters" subsection.
- You will appear a small window with the settings, go to the "View" tab.
- Scroll through the list to the very end and find the "Hidden Files and Folders" item. There are two sub-clauses in it, select "Show hidden files, folders and discs", putting a tick next. Click "OK" to complete the setting.
