The on-screen keyboard in Windows is a useful alternative to its physical analogue. It can be downloaded and installed with third-party sites, or use the utility built into the OS. The last option is more logical and recommended. If the virtual keyboard in our system (for various reasons) is not, we give examples of free and simple programs that perform the same functions.
How to display keyboard on the screen in Windows 8
Since this version of the operating system assumed interaction with touch screens, its virtual keyboard is embedded in the default software package and is appropriately optimized for operation. To turn it on:
- Open the "all applications" (from the initial screen, we click on the round pointer below and on the left side).
- Go to the section "Special Features".
- Select from the "Screen Keyboard" list.
- To quickly search, simply type the "Screen Keyboard" phrase from the initial screen.
- In the search results, click on the desired item (suitable for those who have a regular keyboard).
- Another working alternative: We go to the "Control Panel" and here you already choose "Special Features", in them - "Enable the on-screen keyboard".
The user has the ability to automatically display a virtual keyboard on the screen after each reboot (also during login \\ password from the account). To do this, we go to the "Control Panel" -> "Special Features", after which we select "Using the computer without a mouse or keyboard". Here we click on the "Use the on-screen keyboard" to the string, confirm the action with the "OK" button. In the left menu, we move to the "Change input parameters" option and note that we want to use the virtual keyboard when entering the OS.
How to display keyboard on Windows 10
In the "dozen" to use the on-screen keyboard even easier. To display it on the screen, click right-click on the empty place of the taskbar, select "Show the touch keyboard button" from the context menu. A corresponding icon will appear in the tray, pressing which will open or close the desired utility. If the first way does not work, do the following:
- open the "Start" -> "Parameters" (or click Win + I);
- choosing "Special Features";
- go to the "Keyboard" section and activate the "Turning on the on-screen keyboard";
- no less convenient to use the OSK command entered in the "Run" field (Win + R);
- either run the "Special features" center for a combination of Win + U to quickly access the power point.
If the screen keyboard does not turn on
Depending on the assembly installed, the virtual keyboard may be absent in the usual location. For Windows 7:
- we go to the "Control Panel" -> "Programs and Components";
- on the left, select the "list of installed Windows components";
- open the "Enable or Disable Components";
- we leave the daw in the box at the tablet PC components;
- after this action, the keyboard will be included in the method described in the article.
To enable the on-screen keyboard on the authorization screen, just click on the "Special Features" button.
In Windows 7, the utility is called by analogy with the method described for Windows 8. Among the alternative programs for the PC should pay attention to the Free Virtual Keyboard or Touch It Virtual Keyboard.
