How to change the brightness of the screen on the laptop

Sometimes there is a need to change the brightness of the laptop screen, but not everyone knows how to do it. In a dark room, a less bright screen may be needed, and on the street on a sunny day - brighter. It is not difficult to configure this parameter.

1
Most laptops have special buttons to increase and reduce brightness. Usually they are depicted in the form of a sun with rays and a triangular arrow, pointing up or down, respectively. When you click on the desired button, you should hold the Fn key at the same time.

2
You can change the brightness settings manually - through a special laptop menu. Click the Start button, select "Control Panel". Open the "System and Security" section, press "Power". At the bottom of the screen there will be a special slider in front of the "Screen Brightness" window. Thinking it, you change the brightness settings.

3
If the laptop works from the battery, after a certain period of time it automatically reduces the brightness so that the energy consumption is less, and the battery discharged slowly. If you want to increase the time through which the system automatically reduces the brightness of the screen, click "Start", "Control Panel". Go to the "System and Security" section, "Power". On the "Select Power Plan" page, select the "Change Plan Settings" command, as applied to the current plan. Next to the "Screen Brightness Reduction" item Change the duration of the bright backlight in the "Battery" and / or "connected" item. Click the Save Changes button.

4
In some versions of Windows, the adaptive brightness setting feature is available. Its essence is to automatically adjust the brightness of the screen, depending on the lighting conditions, which are determined using the light sensor. Accordingly, if a laptop has no light sensors or they do not work, this function will not be available. To enable adaptive brightness on a laptop, click the "Start" button in the lower left corner of the screen, select the section "Control Panel". Open the "System and Security" section, select "Power". Then click "Change Plan Settings". In the list that appears, expand the "Display" section, subsection "Enable Adaptive Brightness". To enable / disable the adaptive brightness of a laptop that runs from the battery, select "Operating from the battery", from the list, select "Enable / disable". If the laptop works from the mains, select "Connected" and in the list, select "Enabled / Disabled". To change the changes, click "Apply", "OK".

It should be borne in mind that an increase in brightness will contribute to the consumption of greater energy, and the battery may be enough for fewer time.
