How to install ski fasteners

If you or the members of your family decided to spend your stay with benefit, then skiing is suitable as it is impossible. Such classes are developing not only muscles, but also joints, stamina, raise immunity and favorably affect vessels. In stores you can buy skis immediately with fasteners complete, but people with experience advise them to install them independently, especially since you may need the experience of their installation in the future. You can always replace fasteners if you prefer another type either if they break. In this article, you will learn more about the types of fastening and how to replace them.

1
Types of skiing

Based on your riding style and tasks, you need to choose one of three types of ski mounts:

  • The most modern skis mounts are called systemic. Do not deepen into their work, it is only worth knowing that you do not have to mess with buckles, rubber bands and brackets. Their installation is quite simple and will not take much time.
  • The second type is called "hard" or "75 millimeters". Many could see this type of fastening in school if there were skis in the physical culture lessons. The essence is that the shoe is attached to ski using a special bracket. She is firmly holding a shoe sock, and the bracket itself, in turn, is the fastening. Now it is believed that the rigid system is the relic of the past. Indeed, many of us will be confirmed, remembering the ever-promoted brackets and gliding shoes.
  • The third type of fastening "semi-rigid". These are all sorts of gum, ties, flagella, to which your shoe is tied. Actually for children's skis, as the baby's leg grows very quickly, and buy them suitable boots is difficult. If you decide to teach a child to ride, then the rubber system will be just right.

When you bought the fittings suitable for you, you can start the installation.

What tools are needed to install ski fasteners

First of all, you must have such a tool like a conductor. This tool is different and its cost has a greater amplitude, however, without it to find the right balance skiing will be very difficult. With it, you will find accurate places to drill and install fixtures.

  • You need a conductor.
  • A marker, which can then be washed off with water.
  • Drill.
  • Electric drill.

Depending on the type of fastening, you may need a drill of 35 mm or 60 mm, specify this moment in advance in the instructions or in the store.

The process of installing fasteners for skis

To begin with, you should learn a little cunning on how to find an accurate balance on skis. You need just to take one of them in your hands and put on some thin or sharp object, and then quietly move ski, until its end and the back part alone and ski will not start balancing. Mark the marker this place. The principle is similar to how a person is trying to keep a handle on his finger, which constantly falls into one, then in the other direction.

  • Now put skis on the floor, making a balance mark.
  • Apply the conductor to one ski. Gently align the balancing line on the conductor and on the ski.
  • Take a drill with the appropriate drill and make a hole for fasteners, focusing on the conductor.
  • Screw mounts.
  • Repeat with the second ski.

If you still do not have the conductor, then you can navigate this value: the ski fastening hinge should be at the same time at the place of balance, and at the end of the thumb. So you can approximately find a place for your mounts.

More experienced runners know that sometimes the attachment can be shifted a little further, then such skis will already be called "skate." Experiment with styles and you will find a more convenient way for yourself.
